SO, apparently "Pimp my Mech" was precursor of hip hoppity things to come. Gold Plated Omni mechs? Because, after all that talk of "adjusting weapons to make them fit the mythos", gold plating Omnis really fits.

Yeah, I get the "you don't have to buy them" angle, but really? Gold plated mechs, for +260$ over the base cost? (I assume, as opposed to $500 MORE)...

I'm not against really expensive cosmetics, but couldn't it have been some really cool pattern? Something other than the extreme ridiculousness of a gold skin?

The gold mechs are a good idea. They will be the main target for the whole opposing team. Maybe even teammates will shoot them (oops, sorry, just testing my weapon groups).

My mind is torn asunder. On one hand I see some of the greatest representations of clan mechs I've ever seen (timber wolf, summoner, adder and uller are to die for), but on the other hand no wallet can repel a price tag of that magnitude! On one hand I want this game to succeed, but where's the content I keep hearing about? I've seen glimpses of UI 2.0, I know that to be real, but where is my CW? When can I punish weeaboo Kuritan/Liao slime for picking the wrong house and have more than mine and my comrades' word for it as proof of our conquest? I know you have to plan ahead through development, but... but... I want to believe...

£147.43 according to PayPal. Please, PGI, prove that you're worth that much to me over the next few months so that I can into clan mechs with a clear conscience. Until then. Nope.

unlike some, I don't paint only in broad strokes. Some thing spGI has done fine on, others, not. This is a NOT.

Of course what some would define good, others define as bad.

TBH I blanked it out of my field of vision when I first saw it thinking "nah, that's just ott" but it's slowly creeping into my peripheral vision and everyone's yappin' about it and now I'm like "WHY GOLD? WHY DOES THIS ANNOY ME? WHY IS CAPS LOCK ON?"

Whatever it looks like (GRAB DEAL), I don't mind that PGI are offering 500$ mechs actually. If they don't offer them, then there is no chance anyone will buy them.


New concepts from Alex are really good. Across the board much bad *** there.

as I said, I don't object to $500 mech skins. Make cool patterns that stand out but *fit* visually, sure. Add alternate geometry (replacement Atlas head, for example)? Sure. But a gold skin?

And why are all the ones I want in the expensive packs? I would prefer a "pick 2" or "Pick 4" pack. Then I could get the Frustrated Feline, adder, summoner and kit fox without feeling like a baddie but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo all your favourites are expensive... This is why I was always poor as a student.

Maybe it's because the Clanners won't be "loyal" to a specific Inner sphere faction? I dunno, but I don't really care either.

I really hope the gold mech is just a vanity thing. I'm more worried about the limited edition modules or whatever they are calling them.
