nerfing the ac10 and 20 isnt just anything . its the equivalent of nerfing the cent or the cicada etc. not needed, not good for diversity..
Ill use it.. but depends, was almost niche in the first place so how many ac10s you hear booming lately?

The AC 20 has 9 pages of whining in just 4 short hours. It took over 3 hours to get the whining started about the AC10. I guess mid caliber weapons don't fit the gamer mentality very well do they. Apparently there is little concern for AC 10 changes since it doesn't make a big enough boom for our whiny gamers

I don't know... it's probably because people don't understand the meta or prefer "ignorance is bliss".

Although, the AC10 nerf is most likely a response to "decouple it" from the meta PPC combos. Although, it just means more AC5+UAC5 combos over the new "LPL" known as the AC10.

It's easy, really: They nerfed the gauss into oblivion. Now in order to bring it back...nah, they wont re-evaluate the gauss, that's what reasonable people do, how boring I say! Instead, they nerf those weapons that people switched for the gauss - the ac/20 and ac/10. Now would ya'll please shut up and thank PGI for their nice crowbar-approach at balancing, would you kindly?

The AC10 is a little underwhemling... for a balistic, it's still better than many energy weapons (better damage at most range than an LL, better heat profile than the PPC, and better ammo capacity than the AC20).

My guess is that a nerf for AC5 and AC2 are coming soon as well (Probably more in the ROF.department for them, maybe range for the AC5 as it's one of only a few weapons with range that's not in line with TT). The AC20 and 10 nerfs will help reduce the effective range of both, making them more brawler weapons and removing the ability to snipe with an AC20 (which could be done before) as well as desycn them with other weapons (PPC or other ACs).

So, are we a more balanced game with these nerfs? Probably, though I expect to see more AC5/2s (incuding the UAC5) out there over the next 2 weeks at least. Is it enough? No, still a long way to go.

I don't recall any of us saying either weapon is dead. It's just a rather redundant adjustment to the weapons when there are other problems at hand such as pinpoint damage, the weak heat system indirectly nerfing missiles and energy, and some others. It doth not maketh senseth. There was nearly no point to those changes (the AC/20 one is somewhat debatable, but the AC/10 one is not).

Well what a surprise they put in more unneeded changes that will dramatically change the battlefield again. Sooooo shocked.....Not. I still dont know why they dont make there own game and stop trying to remake this one.

They didn't know anything about the original so they have no way of understanding they are reinventing everything. It's just a name to them and has many dollar signs attached to it. They do what they want because they don't know any better. They ARE making their own game it just has a "MechWarrior" tag on it hoping for more dollars flowing their way because of it.
