One of my best friends of 30 years needs a bone marrow transplant. He probably has a year before his condition turns into cancer and then becomes untreatable.

Well up here in Alaska a lot of people still have pistols in their pocket... but that is more for the Moose.
(which you would get in Canada as well - not really sure about gun-laws though)

I was public school up to 4th grade, but as you may have seen from my interactions with those who disagree with my viewpoints, I am not a very socially adept individual.
I can say I have yet to see another place I would really rather live (spent some months visiting relatives in the lower 48 - driven through Canada 3-4 times) but my opinion on that may not mean diddly squat for others.

Moose are actually a lot scarier than the bears (as our Canadian friends can probably tell you)
Only partially because most bear are actually really people-shy (where I live at least)

It's great down here in Australia, great climate, good people (mostly), relatively prosperous and clean. Great beaches here in Perth where I live, forget about Bondi, Cottesloe and Scarborough are where it's at.

We also have a Bone Marrow Registry in Australia, and the program here donates to international recipients where a match is found. http://www.abmdr.org.au/
