Well sort of, you can pre-order it. The improved reprint that is. And if you do, you can get double the mechs! This set looks gorgeous!

Damn. Really wish I hadn't bought the first one now. After 2 years still have not got to play it against anyone so paying out again is hard to justify. Too bad they did not change the mechs or at least the maps, would of given me more of an excuse.

Only catch is you have to pre-order 2 sets to get the extra mechs. The other poster mentioned they did not change the mechs. Well that is 90% true. They did switch out the 2 premium mechs. They were the thor and loki. They switched them out for a madcat and battlemaster. Interesting they added a clan mech there. Also the regular mechs are much better quality. Just adding extra info here.

I might pre-order a set as some of my mechs from the previous set have broken since they were a cheaper quality. Well it also does not help that my 6 yr. olds idea of playing table top is setting up the mechs on the board then throwing the dice at them to kill them LOL.

I have replaced a lot of them with the metal miniatures. Which I collect anyway, and if there are any here that are just getting into the table top, or would like a nice collection of mechs from MWO here... Then go to ebay and search battletech miniatures for the pewter/metal figurines. PRetty reasonable too as they run anywhere from 7-15 bucks a piece with free shipping.

Blood rose have you looked on Catalyst website? Or battleshop? In case I will link.

http://www.battlecor...roducts_id=3296

Here is where I got mine from. There is actually a cool stuff games about 28 miles down the road from me so I went there at lunch to grab it. I am not sure if they ship internationally, but if they do the base price at cool stuff is only $39.99 before shipping. Where it is $59.99 everywhere else. Here is that link.

http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/191207

Amazon and others should be starting to sell them also. Try the Cool Stuff link as I am not sure anyone else is running that 20% off the price at the moment.

EDIT: Oh yeah the minis are way better quality then the last box set!!!

I love that the plastic is more stronger and less bendable. So far in the few minis I have gone over (I cant go through them all till I get off work) do not seem to have loss of detail where it seems not enough plastic got injected into the mold. Seems the detail is very nicely done on these. Now to dig out my primer and paints.

@ Blood Rose. I take it then that the Cool Stuff Games site will not ship internationally, or there is no currency exchange type thing there? Dammit!

EDIT: Blood Rose it shows they do ship to the UK. Is it a currency issue? I mean I would prefer to local pickup also. Just curious if you can't find locally if it still would be cheaper there at 20% off and shipping than other places.

Mine just arrived yesterday... Super stoked! Only issue is I need to find people to play with in southern California. Also Ive looked and looked online and there are no non-metal expansion mech sets. The metal ones are just way to expensive.

I started picking up a metal mini here and there like 1-2 a month from ebay for awhile. Been collecting replacements for the plastic ones in the set, and also mechs from MWO here. Can be very expensive if done all at once, but most I find generally run from 8-12 bucks a piece on Ebay and usually free shipping. So I limited my self to a mech or two a month instead of going all out on them like i really wanted to. LOL

I knwo what you mean. I know a few miles south of me in Orlando there are a few gaming groups. That is where all the gaming/hobby shops are located, but I really only play with my sons. Pretty much all I have time for. When those games take too long I "ahem" let the boys get a magical crit shot to my cockpits and let the game finish with a win for them. :)

Looks really cool. I wanted to get into playing BattleTech TT for a while now but I don't know any locations where people even know of BattleTech's existence. Warhammer seems to be pretty big here in Germany but I've never seen a singe BT rulebook or novel around here.

I haven't really understood the system lordprotector works with and the website does a bad job at explaining at what they do.

I'll keep an eye on the Ulisses events though, that will defenitly help me get into the game.

As said - i've known BT for almost 20 years... but this time is the first time i start to play it as a chapter fight.
I get a really good explanation by the GameMaster of the Goetterdaemmerung Event in Dresden.

I enlist - in my case its the 2nd Mac (you can also choose Clans - batchtall.de or IS forces 67)
You get a lance for free - (random assigment)
you take that lance and fight - other players (even MegaMek is possible) after the fight is done you have to write a "chapter" fight report - for lost units you get replacement, for wins etc. you get rewards and you can build up your force.

I really want to try this system - because it will grow my unit - and i have to adept when i don't get a unit i would like to have
(actually i have a JagerMech S - and i really can't get this thing start working (maybe when enemy uses aircrafts)

before i simple have collected miniatures at my liking - (could build a really mean strike company from my minatures - that should break through almost every defense line)

Alright, that's the kind of information I was looking for. The overall system sounds good, I might try that sometime.

Btw, if you are looking to get some more miniatures, I can reccommend looking at
http://www.ralpartha...battletech-c-1/

Shipping from the UK isn't too expensive even if you do decide to get 'Mech one at a time and they have a pretty large collection of miniatures.
