I am wondering why do we have no basic premade shouts / text or pilots ingame?
If its going to be added; my apologies. Did not find any thread about this.

Like other games you can shout 'Follow me' or 'Medic'.

To boost teamwork in this game i have made a little mockup how basic gestures can look like in MWO.

Thoughs?

Great idea. I think this is already in the works. There have been many topics and posts for this to be added.

Someone in another topic even said it would be good if this was accompanied by an on screen picture/video feed of the pilot communicating in the top corner or something. Both of these ideas would add alot.

If we could make gestures, there would be a lot fo rude gestures made out cockpit windows.

Oh, wait, you mean something else. ;)

Seriously, some of this seems like Battlegrid, just not many use it. Can't even train on it. I would use it myself but it seems to have gotten a bit difficult since last changed.

Yeah...wrong use of words. Sorry. Haha.

No. I mean just basic stuff...Should be in every game. Not commanding.

Greetings all,

Yes, as has been stated there is a functional "Command Wheel" on the way.

I would like to see commands similar to "Attack my target", "Need Help", "Enemy sighted Grid ####", with the grid indicated from the reticle location. Quick items that only take a second to transmit. And for scouts they may only have seconds to relay some directions. I'm not sure why we couldn't have these text commands linked to the # keys and access them with ALT #.
[currently we can only use the first 6 numbers for our weapons, that's 4 left for predefined text transmissions.]

The directions and tactics used from the map should be different than what you can say/ask/tell to team mates.

When are they going to introduce this kind of function?

This thread should be back to the front of the list.

It's been mentioned over and over since closed beta.
There was even a voice.

Others here. (wait for it.)

But I wouldn't expect this until long after community warfare. If at all.

However, what PGI is apparently working on according to "The Plan" is an intergrated, in-match VoIP.
The Plan, click on Community Warfare, then Misc.

Oh and sure enough, right next to it.
"Command Wheel."

@Praetor Knight - Thanks
@Koniving - It makes me sad. It should have been in the game. It's basic things, really. Thanks for the link, i remember that. But 5% on Com Wheel dissappoints me.

Your mock up is very clean!

I requested this feature before, using the example of the Commo-Rose from the Battlefield series, and was disappointed to learn that it was pretty low on the list of priorities.

It's great that they're working on it, but too bad it's not high on the priority list. Battlefield and MWO are similar in that they are action/simulation games which rely heavily on communication and co-ordination for success. I can't believe how cumbersome it is to try relaying basic tactical information to the team via chat.

The voice commands are already in the client. I'm not sure why they aren't using them yet (waiting on HUD 2.0?), but they already exist for things like attack and hold position. They sound okay. Not sure if we're allowed to share them though.

Thank you! The Battlefield commo rosé is always good.

Have to revive this now that it seems it's a time for change that rivals obamas campaign :P

I would absolutely love to see this feature in game.

Personally I believe the very best fit for it would be LANCE ONLY Commo rose commands. With lance commanders able to access a wider array of options to communicate to other lance commanders.

This way you encourage a lance to work together.
You encourage those who wish to make the lances work together do so un-interrupted by cross talk from other lances; Outside of the regular text chat, which is already optional.

Don't have to deal with the wide array of eleven other gits out there... Hell I can't even think about eleven people I like xD Three is much more manageable :)

Immersion!!! Working tightly with a lance is awesome and far better than a blob of smurfs. If ECM changes we may be seeing blobs dissapate further. So go oooon! you already did the spawn points, that was one step, encouraging and rewarding lance based teamwork is the way forward (better bonuses on assists etc would work well too).

I really need this, I'm a lover of squad based action and nothing beats it. Also I've started reading the books and it strikes me that lances are bonded together from a young ages in some cases and very tightly knit.

There's hardly encouragement to reflect this when Derp Mcderpleson charges off headlong into the enemy for whatever moronic justification he has come up with with no reason to give a damn about those in his lance besides cyan colouring.

...and don't expect anything until Q4 2015 at the earliest. There will be many things that need to be polished in CW before any new features like this are worked on.
