Or goto NoGutsNoGalaxy's website and they have all of the previous matches archived (well most at any rate and they are adding more as they come).

Dont get me wrong, in CW and non-Tournament matches this is a viable way to play.

But not in a Tournament that is watched by Spectators that now get a very bad picture of this game from such boring bad matches.

Any Tournament or Challenge has usualy a punishing inactivity penalty to prevent such behavior and this one is no different!

To determine in skirmish the winner should go ,kills then points and both teams lose with a draw to encourage more fighting and less hiding.

Looked like a "GG" right there! No, seriously! Really! I'm being serious!

Technically, you could get into stalemate situations even in Conquest; just much more unlikely. Needs tie-breaker rules aside from a straight rematch (preferably before the tournament starts, but that's a bit past now).

It will possibly remain forever a pipe dream - time slots aside - the fact that PGI is not putting in any more regional servers is one major impediment to us Aussies (or anyone else with 100+ pings) from competing on even terms.

I'm not sure the status of servers, but the Russians seem to be doing quite well, lol.

Just wanted to throw this out there since SWK is taking some heat for our cave strat. We tried something totally different and tried to force a brawl to mitigate the Lords advantage over us in the pop tart meta-game. Clearly they have better jump snipers than us, so we tried to counter it. Nothing more, nothing less... for those of you that watched the stream for 20 minutes of nothing happening, well sorry but under the paramaters we were given that was our best shot at a win and as it's a tourny you play to win.

Lords were smart to avoid the meat grinder and wait until IGP/PGI forced our hand announcing the game mode change to assault instead of skirmish, and predictably beat us soundly in the next match. Well played guys, good luck and I'm looking forward to an almost certain Steel Jag/Lords final.

Another match that is not worth a winner from the 3 i saw....

PGI - the matchtime is that long - 20minutes - yet they prefer passivity for 19 minutes and half of them fail to do above 100 damage.

This is no good sport, this is no good entertainement, they used the RNG based strikes very heavy - throw such Teams out of the contest and substitute them with the best Teams that lost their matches but did Show Courage, Skill and Activiy!

This Tounament is in dire need of a passivity penalty!!!

:(

In answer to this, Skirmish mode should be taken out of the equation... Conquest would make for the most exciting viewing, if that's what people are after.

Who could imagine that a team would use the best possible approach in a competition match. This will be hilarious on Assault.

No need to apologize. The match with Skojd using the same strat their opponent assaulted the position and won, so the same flak could be thrown (and was thrown) at Lords for not being "good enough" to do assault the cave. It's a strategy and could go both ways.

Also, I wouldn't be so sure about the final matchup. There have been a lot of upsets already... It just takes one wrong move or lucky strike to change everything.

Speaking of that, nerf arty/air for crying out loud! It's the only "meta" that has actually been consistent through every single match - that should tell PGI how unbalanced it is...

Cave with all AC40 mechs is essentially impossible to assault when you're fighting a team that can shoot back, which SwK can do. Nobody is good enough to deal with that, simply due to problems with firing lines.

Precisely.... We wanted to at least try and win a match without using either of the two biggest meta weapons: PPC's and Arty Strikes. Best we could do was a tie.

I'm on the side of SwK for their tunnel sitting strategy.

It's "play to win", the elite teams have made that very clear time and again. HoL has many world-class jump-snipers on their team. Why, if SwK were trying to win the match, would they ever engage HoL in the open? That would be playing right into HoL's strategy and thus a poor tactical decision.

Albeit, I'm very disappointed that in the second round SwK immediately went the Cataphract route they did... I would have wanted to see another cave-camp, followed by a change of mode. Not sure if assault would have changed much, but forcing SwK into a change in strategy while HoL could continue with their tested-and-true methods put SwK at a severe disadvantage (imo).

Hey gotta do what you gotta do cave rush takes balls and a bit of luck. Look at our match we could of won it but all it took was 1 awesome airstrike to change the tides. And lets face it the cave/grinder push mega brawls were exciting to watch I think

I remember back in the days of closed beta when Cave brawls on forest colony and frozen city were both compelling and exciting... now the average MWO match consists of PPC/AC sniping from a thousand meters away with a couple dozen air strikes mixed in. I've watched the twitch stream of every match so far this tournament, and it has become very apparent that MWO gameplay has gone stale, even on the competitive side. Bring back brawling (hello, SRM's?) and you would go from a few hundred viewers on your twitch stream to thousands, because matches would actually be entertaining to watch.
