Technically, Stock Mech Mondays are Tech 1 and Tech 2, but only if the variant comes stock with SHS. No DHS! The front page of the website clearly lists all of the rules you need to know.

Just read the calendar, and keep up with the wonderful Stock Mech forums. Tsk tsk!

;)

my bad for not being too precise. I think SMWs allow DHS if it's part of the era?

I wanted to try out the stock matches but couldn't build up enough enthusiasm to log on.

After grinding out 25 matches for the cadet bonus to buy unmodified mechs to use I got sick of the game again. Seriously it just sucks the life force right out of you.

If we continue to see this kind of interest and increasing popularity in stock mech days, we might just have to consider making something official out of it. Thanks for the suggestion!

From the "For What It's Worth dept."

My 2 months of playing have been mostly abject misery. SMM was the third time I've played in 2 months that I enjoyed myself.

He was there on the 5th :D

I had a lot of fun as always. The suggestions that people have about ways to make SMM better should be posted up at the mechforce classic site too so they can be discussed there too.

Stock Mechs....... Is that when our mechs are made out of fiberglass, and run in a big circle the whole match?

Yes! Thanks again to those that played last night, and thank you for your patience. We'll talk about it on the MF:C forum, but I think/hope we will come up with a way to keep moving people around a bit, to avoid the team vs team grind down, when one team is getting hammered too much. And thank you again for your patience as we figure out how to juggle multiple dropships with these shiny new private lobbies.

was thinking perhaps moving the highest scoring player of the winning team and switching them with the lowest scoring player of the losing team to mix the teams up.

Oh darn, for a fleeting moment I thought this could be a reason for keeping my untouched Thunderbolt 9SE around. Guess I could consider buying a [Tech 1] Hunchback or Jenner. Perhaps re-Stock-ify my lonely Founders Atlas or something similar...

All we need now are urbanmech thursdays

thurbsdays

30 ton mechs, 100 rated engines, anything goes.

If UrbanMechs were added, they would definitely be useable in Stock Mode, at least on the sort of city maps.

Try to put a few more qualifiers in there, If, we might consider..... and yet people will lap this up and say that PGI is listening. :) You can fool some of the people all of the time.

The Spider with oodles of ballistic slots is better for building Urbie. Same tonnage, has JJs.

Only issue is not fat enough and the AC/20 won't fit if you want Boom Urbie. The AC/10 Urbie is doable though.

I wouldn't recommend refitting to tech 1 something that can give you a CBILL bonus. Since you don't get any rewards for playing private matches, keep your mechs that can net you more Cbill for public matches.

Good point about the cbills Sybreed. Personally, I had a hard time having any fun with my Phoenix Battlemaster 1G and Thunderbolt 5S in MWO main but I retrofitted them for Stock Mech Monday and the 1G regained some life for me. The Thunderbolt still stays unproven...

So, even though they are Phoenix (aka Hero) Mechs, they were gathering dust anyway and I usually just take Hero's I like better if I am seeking some cbills. Using them stock has at least breathed a little new life into them, for me. Might be the same for some people's Founder's...

Its not a Time Zone issue, Its a work issue. I'm on 10 hour days right now and I have to get up at 3:30 am... I am hitting loopy tired by 7PM and gone by 9PM. I can't do the gaming/work marathons I used to do 8 years ago when I was 40! :)

Thanks for the link Tiger. So far I've just been browsing Smurfy's looking at stock loadouts and stats trying to decide but I've settled thta I wanna stick to mediums. My 4G might get converted back to stock because I use the Grid Iron as my main HBK with the standard optimized AC20 loadout. That being said the CN9-AL seems appealing in stock form and it could be a good complement to the Hunchie.
