I've been having this problem too since the last patch. I can usually disconnect and reconnect but am often dead by then. Anyway, my wild guess is that when the server doesn't receive any packets from you, or when you don't acknowledge server packets, for a given time period, it stops sending the game update packets. You're still connected to the server, so it's not a disconnect per se but there are no game updates.

Edit : My problem is not very frequent. Once every 10 games or so.

I have been having this problem off and on for the last 2-3 weeks. It happened again last night when all was going well and then suddenly everyone was frozen in place, or rubber banding all over the place. I disconnected and then reconnected, but this didn't do anything the game. The game time continued to count down, but it never ended even after the counter ended.

I finally had this happen. Seems like Everyone locked up for about 15-20 seconds then started working again.

Ah, I thought this was just me and my crappy connection. I've had ping spikes since I started playing the game, but the last few weeks I've also had moments where everyone freezes for 20 seconds, and then things go on as normal. Sometimes two or three times in a single match. I never disconnect, but it's still rather... suboptimal to essentially be unconscious in 20 second intervals.

It's a server and or networkcode related problem that exists since last weeks patch.

We've been monitoring the recent increase in lag spikes and connection issues and we have made it a top priority internally. We are currently investigating and will keep the community updated with our findings. Thanks for your patience while we continue to investigate.

Thanks a match I had today had everyone getting pwn'd by a single MG locust who seemingly didn't have the connection issues the rest of use clay animation pilots did.

And thus did the Locust bask in the one time glory of enjoying a feast while so many of his brethren regularly fall to famine.

And so did the Locust praise the Almighty Lord of Glitches for his windfall. Amen.

Don't think this is an ISP issue. Had a match this morning where 5 minutes into half the players on both teams suddenly disconnected and no one else was able to hit anyone. Chat had 6+ minutes of lag before messages would show up. Have heard others complaining about similar issues.

Had this problem on several drops lately.

Playing in the UK, just had two drops go like this. Worst was on Terra Therma, Assault mode. Multiple enemy mechs were stuck in place and couldn't be killed and I didn't time-out of the map when the timer ended. Tried to assault the base but my mech wouldn't rubber band past a certain point.

You're too kind. Once every 1000 games is too much.

Happened again, tried to take screen shots of others complaining, but missed.

They are not client end problems, they're server side.

Go to the Patch feedback forum, it's loaded with threads and posts on this issue.

Hey everyone,

I am fed up with MWO/PGI and the insulting support response in which they ask me to run dxdiag, pings, MODEM brand? etc. after I pointed out there is no way my PC set up/ISP can attributed to everyone else globally having the same lag/disconnect problem after the patch. This also after the DNS fiasco.

So instead of wasting more time and continuing to try to reason and justify my issue, I just gone ahead and opened up a case with Paypal to get a refund of my last MC purchase when the game worked. As evidence, I will send Paypal ALL of this captured evidence. I hate to do this because I love the game and have spent a lot of money but honestly, this "it's not our problem" just helped me quit this game. I will get back HOURS of my life so really no loss. Thanks PGI.

Again last night I had 4 matches and had a disconnect in every game (2 of the games I was dc'd twice).
I also had at least 4 dc's in mechlab.
In a 2 hour session this is not acceptable. My internet is 60mb, (ran repair tool, wasn't downloading porn, streaming other crap or running anti virus) every other game is fine.In the UK and Virgin broadband.
I've spent a few quid on this game but I am getting pissed off putting up with this crap.PGI need to admit it's on their end and ******* bloody well fix it instead of ignoring the many others experiencing this connection issue.

Just had a match where 1 person from each side failed to make it to match. So, two disconnects in one game.

Just dropped and other team had a 0 damage (C) Catapult.

It is a shame that PGI cant test someones graphics before they are rubbed with raw meat and thrown to the wolves. I know that I would appreciate dropping with people who have an idea what is going on and can make it to the game. PGI for some reason prefers penalizing good pilots with the worst team mates.
