If she gets mad, just ask if it is that time of the month.

Artemis adds no slots or weight to streak srms but decreases time to lock.

This behavior was a bug that was fixed in a previous patch. However, if you also have LRMs equipped, you get the global reduction in time to lock.

As the speed of a light mech approaches 0, its chances of surviving the match also approach 0.

Never chain fire direct fire weapons. All you do is scatter damage.

Unless you want to generate cabin shake for whatever reason. 3 chain-fired ac5s will generate continuous cabin shake. That will prevent an AC40 Jaeger or a dual-gaus anything from getting off a clean shot while your team tears it to shreds.

Be consistent with weapon groupings and button allocation across mech chassis.

I always make my Lasers button #1, Ballistics button #2, and missle button #3.

This will teach you quicker what weapon your firing in the beginning of your playing career.

Keep your head and torso on a swivel. It's really easy to get outflanked without knowing it, and staring down a target is just leaving yourself exposed.

This or left arm button #1, right arm #2 and torso #3. For a Nova as example.

Weapon grouping options change very much for me depending on the loadout. For example
  • KFX 2ML (#1) LPL(#2), MG (#3)
  • WHK 4 LPL I split the arms L/R to buttons #1/#2.
  • SCR 2LPL(torso)/3ML(arms/head) I have ML (#1), LPL (#2), arm ML (#3), head ML (#4)
  • MDD 2LPL/2ML/2SRM6: buttons #1/#2/#3
  • MDD Dog 4ML/6LRM5: 4ML #1, one torso LRM5 #2 chain, other torso LRM5 #5 chain, use autohotkey to fire #5 w #2, all lrm5 (group) #3.
So I do not really group per weapon type or per physical location per se, but try to. Some weapons are grouped in one button and chained in another. My middle mouse button is my chain/group toggle, but that only works when you have group that needs the toggle.

(And you can image why I look forward to the pulse laser buff)

If you do elect to take command of a PUG match, good on you and good luck... but don't be a Richard Cameron about it. :) Folks are playing to have fun

Armour is a resource you can share.
Especially if you're in a heavy or assault, there are times when you'll be more healthy than the people in front of you. If you're sitting there in full yellow armour while the front line is smoking, you need to get up there and take some hits so your injured teammates can attack without tanking all of the return fire and dying because they have exposed torsos and you don't.

Sharing is caring. The more evenly you distribute enemy fire among your team, the more chance you have at success. So don't sit in the back with an LRM Atlas. Get up there and get dirty for the greater good.

Your attention should be divided 50% minimap/movement, 40% enemy target info, 10% reticule

Good one for newer players:

If there's something you don't know, please ask on new players forum. We may not have the time to answer you in a match.

Also, don't keep silent. We can't inform if you don't ask.
