My Cicada 3M with dual large pulse lasers loved this tournament. Maybe I shied away from taking a few kills that I could have, but otherwise I didn't have to adjust my play style to get on the leaderboard this time. Just make sure I get philanthropist every match and keep my heat above 50%. If you're not shooting all the time, you're just missing opportunities. =]

ECM and UAVs help to make sure you win every match, too.

That said, the score formula is a phial of shite.

I just copied it off the website and pasted it into excel to sort and summarize the numbers as I wanted. I also create pretty charts off the data, but I know I am strange and like to crunch numbers.

Wha? Huh? You mean not everyone has an excel spreadsheet tracking their per-variant performance over 7000+ matches since closed beta?

Slackers.

Entirely too much work. I don't know anything that happened before the last stat wipe.

I like these kind of weekend challenges. My question is: if I didn't got to the 10 victory matches but won a few C-bills. Do I still get them even if I didn't got 10 victories?

If you played 10 matches you get the Hula Girl.

Any qualifying matches will get you the c-bills.

Every Merc Corps member gets the dog tags because we stomped face even though PGI is about to effectively remove us from the game.

ghost bears seemed to get the banner too, and if you look at the numbers, we would have had many more points if we had as many matches as the merc corps did ;)

Don't know if that necessarily follows, but: if I'm interpreting the faction score table correctly, then the top 50 players from the Merc Corps played an average of 120 matches each over the weekend. So they definitely put the effort in.

Assuming the tables show the totals for the top 50 per faction, here's the data including average score per person and number of matches per person, sorted by number of matches and by average score per person.

Factions by number of matches:
		 Total Total Ave No.
Faction Score Matches score matches

Happy to say I received everything I earned, correct number of Cbills and hula girl, when I logged in tonight. PGI even corrected my stats to include the qualifying games I was missing yesterday between 10:59 PST and 11:59 PST (but I did open a ticket for it which Alexander responded to earlier today).

The C-bill injection should have been instant. If you know how much you've gained, it's already there (assuming, you gained a reasonable amount that is noticeable).

The way I read the data, it's a victory for the smaller factions! Well played all you special snowflakes out there!
Smoke Jaguar scored a whooping 33.3 pts per match for the Clanners while Rasalhague scored 31.3 pts per match for the IS.
Here is the ranking by average score per match.

And for the Clanners.

The Clanners scored about 2 points more on average per match than the IS, which would be about 30 more damage done on average per match. Quite expected considering the way clan weapons tend to spread damage a bit more than IS weapons.

So, 6m cbills, 300MCs and an Hula Girl...not bad.
I got all of them already so anyone else should have gotten them by now.

I'm happy about the performance because I didn't play millions of matches to get in the ladder, like 70 over 3 days.

I must say I was lucky with the matchmaker, but that is of course needed in challenges unless you play 200 games over a week-end.

1)Shorter competitions please ! Like Friday to Saturday, many people have Sundays filled or need to go to work the next day.

2)Time of ending that doesn't allow overnight surpass. like 6PM European time, so it's more or less 10AM in America and 2 AM in Asia/Australia.

3)Match score = your score. Why making things hard with formulas or introducing something you have to think about and then maybe review. We have an objective indicator of game performance that is match score, one can get it spotting, killing, assisting, destroying components, capping etc. Anyone will just play their fav. style and it will increase variety on the field too.

4)Since it's individual competition after all, remove the need to win the game to qualify.

4 easy steps to make these competitions much better.

I can only imagine- I have this visual of those complaining about the entirety of this weekend "thing"

teen, unpopular, hiding in parents basement, world is unfair

I LOVE these events, and use these to tell those 20 of us who started almost two years ago and try and lure them back.
Got one back this weekend, almost got another back.
keep it up PGI, I love 'em, no matter how weird, or womped the mechanics are in order to win.

We all love events. However having submitted a support ticket before the event started because the system would not let me change faction and then for it to be answered so late that I was locked in the wrong faction, so that I couldn't play my best Mechs makes me mad. There was no support working over the weekend so if anything went wrong it was tuff. This to me seems a strange way of running a game. No support on the busy time of the week seems madness.
The person who answered my ticket didn't read it because if he did then there wouldn't have been the problem.
I thought the whole idea of these events were to get people to play the game rather than to piss them off. While it was the same for everyone the big difference we were restricted on what mechs we could play unlike the previous event which was a great event. So if you didn't have the mechs, if you wanted to partake you either had to buy on or play the trial mechs. I think this was unfair. The scoring system has always been a little strange but I am not complaining about this.
If they want to launch this next year on steam then they need to put a lot of work into things so this doesn't happen.
The game isn't noob friendly and things like this don't help. I know they are trying to address the noob friendly side of the game so lets hope these events are better handled and have better support and are announced much earlier so that any problem can be sorted before the event starts.

I want to see FLAMER FUN FRIDAY. You get points for how long you shut enemy mechs down by flamers, and you get points taken away for how long YOU are shut down for overheating.

There you go, PGI. Endorsed by THE Double-Aught-Oh-D-Struct! Top 100 of each faction get a free Unique "Molten" pattern (scarred and molten look). Top 25 get a Klaxon Warhorn. Top 10 get a Radioactive Decal or a Glowing Radioactive cockpit item for their mech. Top 3 get a personal verbal thanks from me, 00ohDstruct, for being the best at making others lives a burning hell.

Flamer Fun Friday?

...I'd bite that! :D
