<<<UPDATED MARCH 2015>>>

This is an up-to-date list of all the IS Mech Quirks that I formatted.
http://files.enjin.c..._1426898797.pdf

What is a Quirk?

Good that you asked. It is a bonus certain Mech variants have. The bonuses in the list are cumulative. That means if you get a 10 bonus to Medium Laser Range and a 10% bonus to Energy Weapon Range it results in a 20% range bonus for all Medium Lasers.
You, as a new player, would be well-advised to consider these bonuses when you plan your Mech loadout. It might also help you making purchasing decisions

What did you do with the list?

I formatted it to make it more readable. It is 9 Pages instead of the 33 of the original. It seperates the chassis quirks from the weapon quirks. It visually seperates the individual chassis from each other. (Locust to Locust, Dust to Dust...)
Personally I print it out while I work in smurfy on new builds. You are free to do with it as you see fit.

Please note that while I worked as diligently as I could, the nature of work like this means there -will- be errors. Please post any errors you notice in this thread. I also tried to eradicate obvious typos PGI made.

I will try to keep this up-to-date. No promises, though.

@MODs:
I realize this is, technically speaking, not a question asked by a new player. But it answers a couple of questions I keep hearing from new players, so I posted it here. It is aimed at new players and helping them in the mechlab.
If you consider it out of place, please move it. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this here - I had seen it elsewhere but forgot how to find it. From what I have researched so far, quirks are an important factor when deciding what mechs to get first, so it would be cool if the Mods could pin it here for us new peeps.

The Firestarter A is listed twice with different quirks.

I think one of the two is supposed to be the Firestarter S?

You are right. Thank you for the heads up.

File updated. Tiny typo, big difference. :P

As I said, there will be errors. I´ll give my best to weed them out.

nice job, but you should update the list to the latest patch notes.. the cat's you have listed are wrong.. looks like pre dec 9th list.

I am not quite sure why you think that. Just checked the Cats in game. The tooltips correspond with the list.

This is post Dec 09. You will find King Crabs, the slightly nerfed Thunderwub etc.

Please note that I changed the order of the Mech variants sometimes to save vertical space. That might have fooled you. The first Cat (left top) is not the A1, for instance, but the C1.

Their Omnipods do. Minor ones.

But frankly I am not remotely interested in the Clans. If they want something like this they got to do it themselves.

Was going to suggest you add this to the user guides list (was a pinned topic) but it appears to have disappeared.

Nice work.

Do you mind (if the mood takes me and I get bored enough) if I add the info to a graphic, with pictures of each variant?
I've been sorta meaning to do an 'everything summary' 'book' for a while, and quirks would probably be a good include.

It did... same day as the release of CW.

It saddened and confused me.

You guys are free to do with it as you please.
If you need the original .ods file I can provide it as well.

My bad, I'm sorry,, I thought both LRM 15 quirks where removed.. it was just the heat generation.. I will edit my post to not confuse people.. Great job for keeping me on track!

The quirk list was updated with the most recent changes in February.

The released Panther and Enforcer are included.

The unreleased Grasshopper and Zeus not yet. I will do another update as soon as they become available.

As always, work like this will result in a minor error or two. If you spot one, please inform me.

Updated.

Including March 17 changes for Trebs, Quickdraws, Catapults and Highlanders.
Including Grasshopper and Zeus.

If you allow me a personal comment:

It is a bloody mess.

If a Mech needs 14 buffs to be half way viable, something very basic is wrong with it.

There is no need to make miniscule differences like +5 more Torso Yaw Angle versus +5% Torso Yaw Speed on the same frigging chassis.

I have my doubts that even the responsible guys at PGI can keep track of what they did anymore.
