I think that a lot of Claner don t realy know why they invade. It is not just for Terra. It is not to have as much planets as the other Clans.

From Sarna: The Wardens believed that it was their duty to serve as protectors of the Inner Sphere until the Star League could be reborn naturally, while the Crusaders believed they needed to conquer the Inner Sphere and reform the Star League with the Clans at its head.

The aim is to restore the Star League. Nothing else.

All fightings between the Clans at their home area have differrent reasons. The Invasion Force has the same target.

yes and terra is the goal, because there is the comstar and the comstar is controlling more or less the IS. If you conquer terra, you have control over the IS, meaning bringing peace and reestablishing the com star would be a lot more easy.

I think a lot of people also do not realise that the Star League at this time does not exist either and was essentially an embodiement of the IS defense force. The very fact of Kerensky leaving and the collapse of the Star League causing the second succession wars. So it isn't just the Clans who are interested in Terra as a "jewel in the crown" in terms of obtaining the recognised seat of power, it is also the IS.

However a number of forces remain who didn't follow Kerensky, and have been residing as guests in various factions. This included the resident forces of Comstar.

This is why as as a result of crusader efforts and CJF in 3058 with the invasion of coventry creates a need to revive the SLDF which is rebuilt from a combination of IS and Clan forces.

With the history in MWO available to be re-written but only PGI able to identify with creating official factions it will be interesting to see what if any triggers or events may then similarly awaken the SLDF into action. Though interestingly if the Clans do reach Terra it may not be comprised of the lore related forces we might expect?

Correct. Alexander and Nicholas Kerensky's writings inspired the Clansmen to return to the cradle of humanity, the former seat of the Star League's throne, to restore it and bring it back at its purest form (quite an idealized form, i should add.. ;) ).

When will Comstar bee implanted? It is time for it.

Idea can bee an attack window around Terra for "Lonewolfes". What they win looses all faction. Rise of the Chaos march....
There is a lot of work to do.

The reason the clans are racing to Terra is that the Clan that gets to Terra first becomes the ilKlan. Of course as with anything with Clan society if you don't like it you can always challenge it and fight it out.. over and over until you get the result you need.

Which is sort of scary considering the lore behind Comstar.

FTFY - This is the real aim. To become the ilClan.

Which suggests in black and white what the objectives of the ilClan is, which is to reform the Star league:

"the concept of ilClan determines which Clan the new First Lord of the resurrected Star League would descend from"

I think that just might suggest that CSJ may have thought about winning the race but not the peace. ;)

Under PGI, the real aim of the invasion is to allow Merc units to make a mockery of Clan unity. :D

To be fair, in the lore neither clans or the IS had internal fights until 3057.

Oh I know, but PGI took a **** on lore the moment they let Mercs go Clan and allowed open Clan warfare. So at this point, does lore matter anymore? I would say no because PGI took a **** on two of the biggest aspects of lore.

And since PGI shows no desire to unfuck this, I am now in the boat of "Lets all do what ever the hell we want"
