It's been like that for ages. Lasers need nerfs or other weapons need serious buffs.

Good news! Now only dropships will have good lasers.

After ten thousand years I'm finally free!

Dropship! I summon you! time to eject-kill Earth

i honestly can't wait to get everyone clumped together and voluntarily eject, summoning a dropship that will destroy the entire opposing team with magnificent alpha strikes to the rear torso (obviously piloted by notorious NKVA cheaters.)

As much as it's trolling, I would probably leave a little wet patch from laughing too hard if this were to happen.

I do forsee spiteful bad losers hiding in their spawn to deny the enemy team c-bills, but spawn camping does need to go, so maybe this is the way. depends how its implemented.

And that is coming from someone who has literally never been spawncamped in this game, i know how to avoid it and really, it only happens to outmatched teams. It still needs to go, terrible mechanic.

I do not understand why PGI would do the drop ship and spawn changes without addressing the objective for counter attack mode. The patch changes are good, but not without a reason for people to come out of their drop zones.

Making Omega into a conquest zone or even adding a couple more conquest zones that could be flipped to gain points superiority combined with kill superiority would seem to fit the goal of recapturing the map which is what counter attack is supposed to be.

The changes in the patch are good, but they are incomplete....why?...just why?

Yeah, that would neatly resolve the forseeable problem of counter attacking teams getting a kill lead and destroying omega, then retreating to the godships to wait out the 30 mins. Do Like.

I agree that spawncamping is a bad mechanic and as you said, it really only happens to outmatched teams. Buffing the dropships is not the way to solve the problem though.

The root cause of spawn camping is that it is a way to shorten uneven matches. No one wants to sit in the base for 30 minutes waiting for the timer to run out for the win. We already have that with waiting for turret drops.

To eliminate spawn camping both sides need to have a way to force a quick end to the game if the other team refuses to engage. In invasion the attacker already has this option with the omega, however the defender and both sides in counter attack do not have a way to end the match other than killing the entire enemy team, hence why spawn camping occurs.

If PGI adds a way to quickly end a match against teams that are not engaging (or minimally engaging) it will eliminate spawn camping by getting rid of the root cause.

Im sorry, but that wont happen.

When im playing, we always kill all 48 mechs, we want the C-Bills etc.

And the spawn camping issue that needed solving was the defenders getting camped by teams that have just pushed into the base, on certain maps (sulphur, emerald being the main culprits) and the only fix that was needed was to move the spawns somewhere sensible, like on Hellebore. If you get spawn camped as a defender on Hellbore you had already lost, not so on Sulphur or Emerald.

The thing is spawn camping is occurring to defenders in normal Invasion matches as well. Teams ignore the objectives and wait to kill each and every one of the 48 defenders. Sometimes they have to wait several minutes.

Given that when this happens the defender is almost always a team of mostly solos getting camped made it that much worse.

If nothing else I think we will see more people willing to defend after this, which is sorely needed in CW.

CW is "Hardcore" mode. Spawncamping and Light Rushes are viable tactics. But they are just that: TACTICS. If your Tactic isn't as effective to counter, then please scream at PGI that it is OP because you lost. They apparently listen to whiners, not people who play CW.

Well they could have just balanced out the objectives so that the attacking objectives weren't so much easier to accomplish than the defending ones and people would be far more willing to defend.
