Mapping Hotas?

Hi all. Well i dont get it. The controller settings clearly recognise SOME of my HOTAS controls and appear mapped,but when I try to map ,say the HOTAS throttle to mirror W and S for forward and back, its not possible. I cant remap a single thing.Double click ,single click,fast or slow on the key binding, nothing works!
I would like to copy and paste the HOTAS .cfg file that some others have graciously posted on the forum,but i cant find on my PC where these are located.
Any help greatly appreciated
