I wonder what role HG plays in this...did Catalyst scare them away with their previous announcements of re-releasing the unseens?

Seems like MWO is standing behind the "its different enough" not to get sued argument

I also love that PGI is trying to race Catalyst to redesign these mechs

I'm really disappointed in this design. It's looks like the terrible reseen design had a baby with a King Crab.

I just wanna say thanks everyone who participated in this contest.
I feel like it helped keep the pressure on PGI to work towards achieving this huge milestone!!!
Big thanks to PGI as well for settling on a design! I hope the art contest offered the inspiration you needed.

Arm Design looks more like its from Halo's Covenant IMO. Heres a suggested change in arm design:

It's... beautiful...

Although I share sentiments that it could do with bulking up a bit.

The unseen MAD is very slim and gangly and looks way too out of place. I think Shimmering's MAD is a bit too bulky and would be better suited to the MAD II. Alex's is very much in the middle but I still think it needs to go a bit more towards the bulky side but not too much.

I'm loving the sleeker design, it definitely reflects upon the original. Looking forward to picking it up!

I just wonder how much QQ will be generated by the best ballistic weapon mount in the game.

IMO it looked more like a Marauder IIC (due to the body shape) than a Marauder. I doubt I'm getting it, but I feel happy for those who loves it.

The lower arms have already been developed. Just look at the Cataphract's right lower arm. :D

Kudos to the artist of their suggestion for MWO's version of the Marauder, but me thinks it needs fewer curves and more angles like the MWO mechs currently in game.

The curves might be paying homage to the original design in the upper left of the group pic.

I agree, i dont think the arms should be tucked under an overlying husk like structure. Its very similar to king crab's design

Even the arms are angled vs. straight in original marauder

This is what happens when you lock a King Crab and a Locust in a room with large quantities of alcohol... Marauder!

I'd like to see some more bulk, but that may well happens - this is concept art, we'll see how it gets translated to being a 3D model in MWO.

But... Oh, dear god, it's beautiful.

For those not in the know, the Cataphract is actually a frankenstien mech made from parts of other mechs.

Most of it is originally parts built for Marauders.

I like it. It is a very acceptable compromise to keep HG out of the way.

If they do the hit boxes similar to the stalker it could be quite tanky from the front, although the cockpit might be a little too exposed like the catapult.

Keep this up and I will need to install a credit card reader in my PC.
