I never really payed the Marauder IIC much attention but wow, that stingray looking thing looks extremely alien. even moreso the the "Glaug" Marauder, which was actually driven by Aliens in Macross. i thought this was a mini from a different game.
But on topic, yes i like the New MAD very much. Maybe Shadowhawk will have some competition for best ballistic placement in the Innersphere.
I don't think I'll be buying this one, but I do think it's one of the best looking mechs in MWO. I never had a really nostalgic relationship with the original artwork, but if you disregard the comparisons with the Harmony Gold model, it's objectvely a damned fine looking mech.

For those not in the know, the Cataphract is actually a frankenstien mech made from parts of other mechs.
Most of it is originally parts built for Marauders.
you are thinking of the Caesar Battlemech
Kaylos Thex was right the first time, TwentyOne - the Cataphract was (originally) a FrankenMech composed of parts from Marauders, Shadow Hawks, and Phoenix Hawks, while the Caesar is a later 'Mech based on the Cataphract.
Complainers are on drugs. I think it looks pretty damn close. All for 20 bucks as well. That's the same price as the Panther, Locust, Jenner IIC, and Urbanmech entry packs.
AC20 or gauss in the torso will be the meta. No jump jets so it won't be too OP. Only one high gun so won't displace the Stalker as top hill humper....
PGI may be releasing this because they want all the free press from a lawsuit. Better than paying for commercials and its just before the STEAM launch!
I recognized it INSTANTLY from the EGA version I spent so much time in way back in the day (Multiplayer Online Battletech). It is recognizably a Marauder. I'm on it like a NASCAR fan on Bud Light at the Daytona 500 as soon as it's up for prepurchase.
Could be - but it seems like a good bandwagon to jump on. I imagine it will just be harder for HG to squash all this if they have to divide their demon hordes between multiple parties, when their case in reality is nebulous at best.
In the past, it gather it has been easier and cheaper to settle or cave than get it tied up in court - though I suspect HG wouldn't have a leg to stand on against anyone willing to make a proper fight of it.
Russ specifically stated in the Town Hall that "we are committed to defending..." in reference to the Marauder and the Macross Reseen. He did trail off, imagine he didn't want to get his foot too deep up HG's filthy backside yet...but like you said, between Catalyst and these new designs from PGI, we may actually have enough weight of numbers to perform the legal exorcism this property has needed for a long, long time now.
