  3. Multiplier are lost if selection is changed (2 votes [1.96%])

    Percentage of vote: 1.96%

  4. Votes are invisible until player have voted, and multiplier are lost if selection is changed (5 votes [4.90%])

    Percentage of vote: 4.90%

  5. Working as intended, don't change (24 votes [23.53%])

    Percentage of vote: 23.53%

When ppl vote for map and game mode ppl tend to change their vote if the map they vote on get many votes and stuff like that. I assume this is some kind of Vote Multiplier Harvest, and I find it rather annoying. It has become some form of minigame.

To prevent this I suggest one of the following solutions.
- Votes are locked when map and mode are chosen.
- Votes are invisible until player have voted, and votes are locked.
- Multiplier are lost if selection is changed.
- Votes are invisible and multiplier are lost if selection is changed.

Or, do you think all is well? Now you can vote here too…

Perhaps you think we should revert to the old system, I do. However, there are loads of threads and posts regarding this, and this poll is a solution if PGI decides to keep the voting system.

With the new voting system I'm getting matches wayyyy faster than before. I'm also getting a nice mix of matches and modes. It honestly feels like the old days of random matches but with the illusion of control. I must say seeing the numbers bounce around is slightly entertaining.

If the mode stays, I suggest... Once we select our map and mode we are locked out. Only the map and mode we selected are visible. The voting % and our multipliers are hidden. Only when voting has ended do we get to see the results. Just 2 clicks and wait.

Voted Explain, but im for votes not seen.

Why ? easy to say we loosin the time again which matchmaking makes it faster for getting allowed to vote map/mode and playing the new very exciting game of voting, and but better famr voting if possibly - also called fast switch voting :P)

So im for pre-dop vote! Saves double time - no exploiting - and maybe also with a bit of randomness.
Please support my suggestion here:

Please think of something to put Terra Therma back into the game. Nobody ever votes for it and I don´t suppose you developed a map for nobody to play it, like: ever!

I think Terra Therma should automatically get a House Vote that's worth two player votes. :)

The voting system is basically sound, but a few are currently exploiting the fact that you get a bonus if your selected planet or mode aren't the winning ones.

I believe this can be solved by locking the votes of players who have voted for the top vote getting planet or mode. Especially so if said planet or mode is ahead by 2 or more votes.

This would prevent them from exploiting the flaw in the current voting system, which allows them to change their vote so that they get the bonus in their next vote.

Hey, I got Terra three times yesterday (still a pretty low percentage (but higher than Alpine, which I got, um, twice I think), but I _did_ get it).

It´s funny how Bog (now that map can rot in hell, if you ask me), Terra and Caustic seems to be in at _least_ 50% of the selection of maps, while Canyon and HPG seems to be rare and Alpine all but non-existent

I know that the number of games I played is not a statistical relevant sample, but gee, there seems to be some _serious_ weighting on what maps are put up for voting.

I think so too. Initially Alpine were on the list just as much as the rest, but the map "everybody" hated got selected close to every time, and after awhile it stopped showing up as often.

Perhaps PGI is trying to prevent a new Dust 2, but what's the point in a voting system if PGI are weighting maps? I don't think the maps are whats made the matchmaker slow, but the game modes. Perhaps there should be random maps and game mode vote.

The idea of a locked vote is certainly appealing. What I would also add is a (say) 20% chance the map is a random selection of the loosing maps...

I wish they'd lock votes to prevent vote farming.
I also wish they'd release statistics on map modes. Which are the maps people REALLY like and hate?

The question to be asked, had he changed his previous votes? Also, if you do not vote you should not get an increased count. That is another way people can increase the number of votes they can milk in.

I don't see a problem with this "vote farming" at all. Even if you deliberately vote for a map or game mode that will not be chosen in order to increase your multiplier, you're not playing a map that you chose. In order to get your vote multiplier high enough to be able to dictate which map and/or game mode you play you need to play a lot of maps and/or game modes that you did not vote for. A fair trade, I think, to be able to choose exactly which map and game mode you want to play once in a while.

Also, if you do not vote, your multiplier does not increase. This is already the case.

Multiplier farming needs to go. Hide the vote percentage indicators and the problem is solved.
