Most of the big units are willing to take on new (to group or to CW) players. It is not uncommon to catch them with a big mixture of new players or absent of a good drop commander and defeat them.

I read your post O.P. but not the replies

Only two comments I will make

First is that there must be three pages of butt hurt saying we're better than that.

Second is that RJBass has been in 228 for sometime now, nice guy, I've got a lot of time for, even if we don't speak much these days.

I've been in pick up teams that rolled SWOL ( I'm guessing Beta as I'm not that bitchy) in CW so to put them above HHoD and RRB I think is them flattering themselves.

I feel the need to post something. I am from 69MG and I agree that our rating is a C-. I was actually surprised that we rated that high. That is besides the point though I just wanted to apologize for whatever experience made you say this "These guys are flat out not good. Not in any sense of the imagination. I played with them and it was just, ugh." Our issue is that while we do have many regulars we don't have a regular 12 men to drop with. Most of the Unit members are players with less than 6 months play time and more than that there are a few that are not very good at the game or at team playing. BUT most of the people are very friendly and truly have a desire to play well and with other people. The way I would compare our unit to most others is a loose collection of pugs that sometimes get organized enough to at the very least give the b through a tier teams a run for their money. So I invite any pugs out there to play with us I cant promise we will win a lot but we at least try to work together.

On a final note players that are good when they want to be are PKPAIN and ThEGr1llMAstEr

Agreed on the DHB bit. I was a member of theirs since the beta and recently booted for being... cocky. I tried to tell their commander that he had driven into the ground and that our reputation was gone. Starting to realize I should be happy I am no longer in that unit. It IS a shell of its former self.

Sorry for the thread necro, but I find this sort of rating system, if properly vetted, to be a huge help for the lone mechwarrior seeking a unit out. I do not know if there are other sources of info similar to this out there, but with many units inactive, threads of unit ratings are helpful.

Does anyone have any comments or updates on current units along the lines of the OP's rating system...maybe also include whether the unit is highly selective, selective or open in their recruiting methods.
