This playing around trying to farm multipler has got to stop.

Once you pick a map to play in Quick play then, that's it, no swapping. I see it backfire some many times and teams end up terra therma or virdian bog cause people are trying to game the system.

How do other people feel about this then?

Its annoying yeah, every vote is bait and switch.

People vote up the maps nobody wants to play, Terra & Caustic or Alpine, then once enough votes are spread out they switch to what they want.

On the bright side, how else are we ever going to see maps other than Frozen City and HPG though?
Gotta trick people into it with 12x multiplier bait :D

Nobody is willingly going to vote for Terra or Caustic or Alpine most times.

I posted this in the mech gif thread just before this thread started :)...

My face when a map I like is winning on the voting screen, but within the last second, all the votes go to Terra Therma and it wins.

Still, IDK... Love it or hate it, the Voting mini game can be amusing at times too.

So you hate those. I personally love TT and hate the bog and forest colony. Those are prime example of kids showing mommy that they learned a little something at school and now want to show off without any practicality to the maps at all.

It does not bother me. I have had X12 now for about 4 months. I play the map i want to play

i dont see it as a bad thing. it gives fans of seldom played maps a chance to get their way. lately ive been using the vote system to vote for maps i want to play, and for whatever mode is not assault. i dont play any mind games i just vote for what i want or not at all. if what i want doesnt come up then i get a higher chance each time until it happens.

if anything changes make it so that a voters multiplier goes down by one every time they change their vote. that should prevent the mind game aspects. it lets you change your mind, but if you are farming multiplier then its just gonna hurt you.

Definitely need something to stop those who love to click back and forth with their high multiplier causing mass confusion and panic as the seconds tick down.

Hades suggested a vote cap by way of a permissible vote change every 5 seconds (maximum of 3 possible), in addition to being unable to unvote once you have voted. I personally like both ideas.

I think the general consensus is that the easiest fix would be to hide vote totals.

Your idea of stopping vote swapping might work too, but you would still have people waiting till the last second to vote on the least popular so they could pad their vote weight.

Removing the ability to see vote totals is the best idea I have seen so far.

Really I couldn't care less. All maps are valid. Some of the less loved ones I see as an added challenge.

I usually just watch something else while people battle with their votes.

If you vote for the mode and map you want, eventually you are guaranteed to win.

Why does it matter if people jerk around inbetween?

No idea. I was just repeating the best solution I knew of.

I actually don't mind it. I save my votes to veto Frozen City Skirmish, as payback for all the times I was forced to play it 3 times in a row ;)

Frankly, this entire voting thing sucks but the only saving grace so far has been that people playing the "mini-game" have kept it so that we actually get a good mix of maps instead of nothing but Frozen City and Crimson Strait. But, all of mommy's special little snowflakes don't get the map/mode they want everytime so they come here and whine. I personally love getting my multiplier as high as possible and guaranteeing a nice Bog or Caustic rather than HPG for the fifth time in a row. If you can't win the voting game, I suggest you Git Gud.

I like this voting mini game so I don't support OP's sentiment.

On Oceanic where I play, Alpine is picked often when it shows and Terra Therma also gets its share of votes sometimes.

To be honest: I don't really care unless Terra Therma gets picked, then I find a way to put in the minimum amount of effort possible within the constraints of PGI's arbitrary rules until the map is over (and am vocal about it as people getting upset that I don't like terra therma as much as them is more entertaining than actually playing the map)..

It would be problematic if you couldn't switch vote after voting, since then people would just wait til the last second to vote to see what others voted for first. It would still be too easy to game.

The real problem is that you can see other peoples' votes in real time. This is the part that needs to go away. Allow shifting votes all you want, just don't allow us to see others's votes until the timer is over.

I do not complain about this game but creating a prematch mini game is silly.
It should be a blind vote. The more a map is chosen the less it appears as an option.
