This trend of avoiding the new map cause you dont have a balanced loadout or dont know how to play on the new map NEEDS TO STOP!

Build a more balanced build please. AND STOP MAKING IT SO I CANT TRY THE NEW MAP!

Pgi puts all this work into the dam thing and all you guys do is avoid the **** out of it cause you want to stay in the old meta becuase you cant be bothered to adapt. Its sickening and its a miracle this game is still even running with people like this

Avoiding any map because you don't have an appropriate load-out is lame.

I liked random maps better, though I'll also accept a reduction in map choices from four to three. Four is too many.

Get your modifier up to x12 and start ghost voting them into the new map.

Though I have to say I'm not surprised that the EU players would avoid it, most of them have a hard time playing if there aren't rocks to hide behind for 3/4ths of the match.

It'll settle a bit more I think, people have an aversion of LRMs, which the mass amounts of wanting to play the new Polar caused there to be too much. Now the pendulum has swung the other way, which should normalize the number of LRM users back to previous levels.

Before long it'll just be picked about as much as any other map (probably somewhere in the middle since it's not as terrible as Alpine/Therma, but not as noob friendly as HPG and Crimson).

Got the map 5 times last night and I'd say that's enough considering the class imbalance was ridiculous.

Lame or not, I didn't vote for the new map because I was leveling up my MLaser Cicada. That mech is shorter range and good when jumping from cover to cover. I just didn't feel the new map was ideal for it.

Guess what though, I still dropped in the map maybe twice or three times within an hour or so.

It will happen, you will play it.

The Mad Dog being on sale isn't helping. I finally bought one, fitted a narc and LRMs and have been exploding seals.

All yesterday I used short/med range on that map though and closed distance just fine. People just don't think. Plus, there are plenty of options to block line of sight. But.... If you get narced it's over...

The map is a lurmfest, much like caustic can be.
I like the map itself,I just don't care for the massive amount of lrms. From both sides.

The new map can be played on properly by all mech types. People need to learn how to play their mechs lol.

Sure this map is good for LRMs and ranged weapons. But if lights and mediums stick to the trenches which are laid out for you to sneak around, you can really hurt someone bad on this map.

I've been part of or been on the other end of lights and mediums crawling up my backside on this map because while I was watching the distance for things to hit with my ranged weapons, I had a lance of lighter mechs use the trenches and get behind me. And we all know if you are a heavy or assault and any fast light or medium like cicadas get the jump on you, you only have seconds before death lol.

This map has long sight ranges for the ranged fighting and enough low cover and trenches for everyone else to move and get into position for med to close in fighting. So I don't see an issue with the map. The issue is people not knowing how to play unless they have a billion things to hide behind lol.

"Devs have put resources into it" - is terrible excuse. It's like Blizzard, who first invest resources into content, nobody likes (like dailies in MOP), while ignoring players' feedback, then, when it's too late to change anything, literally forces you to do it via mandatory rewards (like extra loot roll tokens), while convincing you, that it's actually great, so you should "eat" it with pleasure, instead of actually admitting their fault and fixing the problem. No. It's not working like that. You're the cause of the problem - you should suffer from it. Don't shift your problems to players' shoulders. Invest resources into maps with proper design - nobody will avoid them. Problem solved.

took out my MDD-PRIME(I), and had a blast with it last night, set LRM's to chain fire and watch the C-bills roll in.

You save up "votes" to request this map, I'll save of "votes" to be "agin it".

Some of us don't like LRM rain. Sorry. This map has all the attributes that made Flanders so popular during the "Great War". Flat terrain with trenches and boatloads of artillery fire. They (the map designers) just traded marshlands for a snowy highland.

I understand - AMS, ECM, balanced build-outs, hiding, using Radar Derp. But the huge scale of the map makes cover hard to find with flanking. The only saving grace is that it takes four to five minutes to flank (depending on your mech's speed).

In my opinion the map is too large and flat. I usually end up taking my Warhammer on a walk-about to flank the opponents from behind. This does give me a fresh mech to start at them eight to ten minutes into the match. Kind of fun but not better than other, smaller maps.

I haven't seen any map avoidance. Every time Polar is up for vote, it gets chosen (from my experiences)

To few ammo for LRM60.

At yesterday's evening I avoided Polar all the times, it was up for vote - 0 matches there. Today I avoid it in 50% cases. People want to see new map, but they are getting smarter pretty fast, so this map moves to Therma category, where you need to stack 12x to troll other players. Of course, if there will be no players like me, who will counter it.
