And that's completely fine with me. The enemy dies faster means I can shoot at other enemies that much faster. What is not cool is people shooting at the backs of teammates in their eagerness to secure the kill.

If this were true you would be getting something like 700+ damage out of a single atlas solo kill if you took out ST and CT, which is common. The damage numbers would suddenly be through the roof if the game was tacking on arm health to your damage.

I think it works... If it weren't it would be barely possible to do 2400dmg in 10mins with the QKD (4.21 dps), if you include several mins of hiking simulator online I don't think so.

If that's the triple LPL build you have somewhere between 10 to 12 DPS depending on if you have pilot skills and cooldown module. Theoretically it would let you do something like 4,000 damage in 10:28 without overheating on alpine.

Add in a juicy air strike and perhaps a few lucky ammo explosions, and you could do it if you were good enough (and your opponents and allies were a bunch of Tier 4/5 beginners.)

Anyway I'll try to get around to testing this matter of factly, but if it were true, I strongly believe we would see a lot more 2k+ damage games. However, I have only seen a handful in all my time.

I want to see it tested for sure... but...

If smurfy is correct, it's 8.42 dps max.

Sustained DPS is 4.21, because heat is not infinite resource. No modules. Mine should be less sustained dps than what most people play as I am using the CDA champ XL I got for free, so running 1 less heatsink. Which puts the sustained dps at 3.54 dps. Factor in cool map and the 3-4min hiking (was an odd match).

I took 4 sides torsos of AS7s and 1 side and a side off a KGC right at the end, to an otherwise unspectacular match. So test it and make posts and stuff.

My personal opinion on the subject is that they should double the amount of points needed for any given "Kill" challenge, but credit a point for both a Kill and a Kill Most Damage Dealt. Yes, this would mean if you got a Solo Kill, it would be worth 2 points. This would eliminate the controversy without making it any easier for anyone to finish the challenge.

But then, I'm wondering if OP's comment about "bonus damage" from the "fresh arm" are legit. I was under the impression that only damage you dealt with your weapons on the target counted toward damage for purposes of a KMDD. Edit: Case in point, you don't get bonus damage credit for a crit on an ammo slot, so you shouldn't get credit for the arm for blowing off a side torso.

In any case, as it stands, if you're trying for a KMDD rather than just a kill, it's better to aim for parts of your target which are not already damaged, thereby earning more damage credit before you finish an opponent off. That goal is in direct opposition to a goal of winning.

I'd imagine if enough people start clamoring on Twitter about it we'll see PGI decide something along the lines of "If you are one of those "evil" players who steals kills, you'll be segregated from other players because you're the reason they're having a bad MWO experience"

I dunno. An arm only adds, what, 40-50 points for armor and maybe 20-30 for internals on a heavy? Maybe 75 extra points per arm that gets included with a side torso? That's only 1800 total points on the entire enemy team (on average) if you shoot off all 24 arms yourself.

Even if true (and I still want to test it, too), I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Assists are where the $$ is at... They can steal kills all day long..as long as I get my scratches in. I avg. about 7-8 assists per match.... Way easier to get and more of them. 3 assists are worth more than 1 kill.. Unless ppl are worried about kdr.

Love seeing a match board with some guy having 3 kills on 100 damage. The little minx.

But that sort of action doesn't help with a KMDD event. Given the recent emphasis on KMDD I wonder what is up.

dude, you cool warrior and you have cool results (2.4k dmg) but... but you play on twink (Member Since 16 Jan 2016 - and have a Death Star) and you perversely kills "children" with Tier 3-4-5... are you serious? do u have a balls?
