Those who shout loudest are not automatically mean the greater number! Those who do not want that there is a 3-person point of view do not need their own Tread, why should they? View all 3person players and video players have plenty of other games, why must every game be tailored to their needs? they feel like God that all the world must be shaped according to their needs? go to another game where you want to view 3 person ... No one forces you to play this game, your wishes are not important or higher rank than those who do not 3Person wollen.Dies is a game for Mechwarrior! We can well without e-athlete, manage pro gamer and Xbox children, the only complain until all their demands are met, and then quickly leave the game because there are newer better to play, who pays a continuous well? the hardcore fans, or those who can quickly find a new toy?

believe me, if the 3rd person view was implemented, people will abuse that from day 1 and.... it will be norm to play in 3rd PV

when that day comes, I'll be the first who do the elitist jerk thing.

maybe in an arcade/casual mode for players who dont want to take the game all that seriously or pros who want something different. but I dont want 3rd person to be an option in normal gameplay

As soon as it's implemented(I'd assume with the same line of sight as 1st person) people will start to cry foul over 'invisible mechs' killing them and other garbage like that.

As to the 'ru8nning through you' they've said the collision model is being looked at already(personally I think A Jenner or other light mech that hits an Atlas at 130kph should be almost wholly wrecked).

Also, no 3rd person... it's too exploitable.

Yes, please, let's avoid adding an unrealistic super wide field of view that comes from a floating camera ten feet over your head and twenty feet behind you, ala MW4 (Lakitu, is that you?) The command couch is where you sit, peering out at the battlespace, hoping to get the drop on some unsuspecting fellow who wanders into your crosshairs while he bemoans his inability to see around corners... this is intended to be a return to a quailty sim, let's encourage that....

However, I don't wish to suggest that the developers decline implimenting other useful additions or upgrades.... perhaps suggesting that these lords of the battlefield, in their far flung future, have a simple rear facing camera installed, ala most current auto manufacturers. It need not be a continuous feed cluttering the austere (read: beautiful) cockpit, or even high quality imagery, just something activated when necessary (read: paranoid)... unless the mechlab will at some point have sweet chrome plated side mirrors with fifteen foot stalks to affix to your chassiss of choice...

Or at the very least, the promise of eventually including the deployable UAV glimpsed in the thrilling reboot video from a while back... serving both parties, offering those desirous of useful intel such as enemy locations around corners, an answer to their prayers, at least for the duration of the drone... while at the same time forcing them to potentially head into the field with less ammo, heatsinks, what have you (read: allowing those invested in the sim to make the choice to be a vulnerable, yet vital component of a team) Forgive me, it's 2:30 in the morning, I hope I'm getting my point across...

All I want is third person spectator so I can see my ally get blown apart with better clarity and full display. That would be something.

  • Collisions and Ramming

"We didn't quite get to rewriting collisions when we rewrote the networking code for movement. Until we've had a chance to go back and fix this up the best advice I can give is to try not to collide with other mechs.. ;) "

in short this is still beta and the life span of this game implies not if but when 3rd person will be in. i for one hate it :)

Many who now cry out for the 3rd person view, are nevertheless likely to leave MWO quickly because they are too complicated (weapons ranges, heat management, etc.) and return to their first person shooters and console games ...

I agree, as a playing record during the Games would be good, you can download after the game, as in the battlefield 2 game analysis

a third person spectator view would be very cool,
makes it far more entertaining after you've died.

They should make it available in 3rd person view until then my $120 will be sitting on the sideline.

Lol, you have any idea how that comment sounds?

Its not like your $120 is going to make or break the game, and if your not willing to spend the money on the game because of that little detail then I dont expect you to be playing this game for very long.

This is not much better than having it while playing
There is nothing to prevent people from sitting and telling their teammates what they see, thus giving them an unfair advantage.
And disabling ingame chat for dead players will not help since people will just use TS, Vent or any number of other voice communications software.

Agreed - something that could be viewed after the match. Would it be difficult to implement?

Not evryone is a NOLIFER so i sinccerely hope that the dev team will keep that in mind that not evryone likes 2 torture his self in a Cramped 1rst person view without freedom to actualy know what is going on, Make a hardcore mod for Self tortureing Nolifers where you cant switch to 3rd person and it will be ok... oh and make it a 100 % sim for them so they must use 123 keys to actualy move the mech.

The developers have spoken and they have not said they are looking for ways to make it work, they have said they are considering external camera views from a long way off for spectating or for battlefield intelligence and surveillance, but definitely no 'over-the-shoulder' 3rd person camera as an alternative to being in the cockpit. Please don't necro a thread to add basically nothing to it, either. Going to petition for a lock.

P.S. ALLCAPS is harder to read and does nothing for your credibility, if you really feel parts of your post need emphasis there is italic and bold tags for that.

There is no POINT to a third person view. All the good shooters are first person.
