So I was double charged for MWO yesterday afternoon (using Chrome) and was wondering if I will actually be able to get a refund? I sent in support tickets to both MWO and UltimatePay but after reading some of the posts via search; I am starting to wonder if I will be able to get a refund....

Someone posted in a thread (that I can't find some reason) about getting double charged and support told them that since the transaction had already went through, they would not be able to get a refund...

Just wondering if anyone has tried to get a refund yet?

I have vaguely heard of this before - why don't you send a pm to a dev? I'm sure they'll be able to help you =)

Just got back my support ticket from "Ultimate Play" and they will NOT refund my money for the systems screw up.

So basically they are stealing my money and committing fraud.....

Also got double-charged. I can't find a phone number or contact information other than the generic support email. I don't care whether there's bugs in the game, but when you mess with my credit card, it makes me very leeryabout spending money in the game and the security of my credit card information.

Yea I thought it was all good and that I would get a refund; but after the email today.... Seems their vendor will not be giving out any refunds

Call the customer service number on the back of your credit card and explain the situation. Tell them you want to contest one of the charges. That's what I'll be doing if I don't hear back soon.

file a claim with your bank IMMEDIATLY.
they they have it set up to not refund after payment processes and not process tickets until more than enough time for the payment to process.
its set up so they don't have to refund your money.

If they won't help, yes do a Chargeback.
beaware that most CC/bank will have you wait 30-60 days before they can do a chargeback.

I'm lucky that my bank is quick about this and having me fill out and sign an affidavit within 10 days. It would be nice if i didn't have to escalate it like this over something that should be fixed with a call to customer service.
Perhaps this is why you can only ring them via having Visa customer service transfer you.
In other words they seem to be hiding to make it as obtuse as possible so they can keep their ill gotten gains.

Well it sucks too because you will have to correct me if Im wrong but.... Doesn't the Bank eat the charge on the "Chargeback" if the other company refuses to pay? Something along those lines?

I agree with you.... Should be a simple fix but instead it seems they are going to keep the money so they can keep their percentage made from the transaction from PGI

If PGI can't help me then I will call my bank, hopefully hear something tomorrow!

If the bank determines that a chargeback is warranted, the merchant is forced to eat the charge; the bank debits the merchant account directly. If the bank doesn't uphold your claim, then the temporary credit (if any) issued to your cc or bank account is debited back to the bank.

One of the risks of opening a merchant account for cc/debit processsing is that the contract requires the merchant to allow for banks to take the money back if the investigation done into the customer's complaint determines that is required.

I had tripple charge today. Filled a form on ultimatepay.com and got postive answer within an hour
"Thank you for contacting PayByCash/UltimatePay. We regret any inconvenience caused to you. Please be informed that we have forwarded this ticket to the concerned department to issue refund for two of your purchases at MechWarrior Online on 2012-08-02 and we will get back to you as soon as possible."

You'll just have to play twice as much to get your money's worth!

Seriously though, hope you get this worked out. Please keep us informed though. It'll be good to know how difficult dealing with PGI support is going to be.

Now I'm wary of getting founders. This was a problem a long time ago and the fact that it hasn't been fixed is a bit perplexing.
