So, I loaded up MWO and played a match when i noticed, the terrain was invisible. I could not see the terrain, and only could only see the body of water at the bottom of the level and some rocks. I thought that is was only the one level that effected my computer, but i played 3 more games and the same thing happened.
Has this happened to anyone else or am i just the special one out there.

I went to river city just a moment ago, and i could see the streets, just not the dirt terrain so I think thats where the problem is.
also, I was thinking that re-patching might fix the problem, but im going to keep looking too.

Bump

My terrain is only visible with lines defining the slopes, structures in the city are ghost-like and see through. Only the river is visible.

Ive checked directX, ok, drivers, .pak files are not corrupted. I'm fiddling with visual settings atm.

If you are running an ATI card, go to the videocard settings and find your AntiAliasing options. Make sure the option to allow the game to choose/set antialiasing is ENABLED. This should fix your issue.

*FIxed* Alt-tabing out and back in fixed it for me. Fullscreen and windowed modes made no difference.

I was running the old ATI 12.4 drivers and having the transparent texture issue. I updated to 12.10 and am still having the same problem. I've tried the suggestion of forcing application settings where ever possible along with trying different combinations of ccc settings. I've also tried different graphic settings within the game... joining sessions only to have a transparent cockpit (except for the mech info/gauges) and transparent land/mountain/city textures is frustrating. I usually use eyefinity but have disabled it and am running a single 24" screen to keep things simple.
I want to play this game! ;)
First time I've experienced this with a game since my last upgrade.

I5-2500k, 8m, 6970 2g, win7 64b

[Edit] Trying 12.11 betas.
[Edit2] Still transparent. Trying a reinstall of MWO.
[Edit3] Same with reinstall. Haven't tried combinations of CCC.
[Edit 4] Alt-Tabing out and then back in fixed it for me. :D

Screen.

I've have the same problem but only buildings/bridges dont show up and there just like floating rocks i think this can be a corruption of the Objects.Pak or possibly a corruption on the level.pak files but until there is a for sure fix i cant reinstall because my download speed is about 20KB/s. I also tried what Paul said that didnt work either for me

Same with me, Invisilbe whatever, sometimes hills show the text "shader compiling" or so.
Clear shader folder, dosn't help
Try whatever ingame-setting dosn't help
Grafic-Card settings don't help
Driver update hasn't helped

Have a 6-Core AMD System
Windows 7
NVIDIA GTX GeForce 580

Anyone any suggestions?

Edith says: Alt-Tabbing didn't help

After upgrading drivers I experienced this and reinstalled the game (even though I know that doesn't do anything), downgraded back to old drivers, tried all sorts of things until I finally found this thread. Changing anti-aliasing options in CCC did the trick (for the record they were on the default setting, so there may be plenty others who just give up on getting the game to work).

Please sticky.

I am on a borrowed PC for a few weeks & have been having trouble as original post - invisible terrain & mechs on average every 5 games.
I have updated drivers & directX to 11
turned antialiasing on & off to no effect
shaders down to minimal no effect
graphics on medium at most
uninstalled & reinstalled game - effective for short time but problem returned
deleted shaders cache before restarting client - probelm continues to return

PC is core i5 3.33GHz win7 64bit
GTS250 driver version 310.90

runs fine while everything works but I cant seem to get this work
any suggestions gratefully accepted

i have a little different, the floor of lvls are almost always white, and some colores or textures missing like dust from footsteps are square and smoke is big bad 2d clouds.
i did everything above nothing fixes it,
updated diver catalyst
update dx
reinstaled game
deleted user files
fiddled with all options on catalyst panel.
restared pc
tried in compatability modes
running as administrator
alt tab doesnt work.
windows 64 7 hd5770 i5 4ddr3
i was interested in this game but losing too much time just trying to make it work properly.

if i play the way it is, i cant see bots behind smoke, visibility range is very short in some cases.
its just slabbish watching squares pop out of the movment of other mechs i feel like im playing some retro indie game xD

All hi and sorry for bad English. Google translate:

i have same problem on win 7 x64/AMD FX-6100/8GB DDR3/Nvidia - 460GTX(314.07 driver)

i re-install dx from the Microsoft site, before that was dx installed Steam.
installation package installs components for dx9, that make sense for win 7 that default dx11.

So after re-install dx, problem was solved :) .

i run an Nvidia card and my problem is blackouts as i call them, i belive they are actualy shading issues, its the worst on the frozen maps during blizzards, all buildings and cliff faces are just completely black, drives me insane.

This needs to be fixed server side asap, clients naturally having the option to see through ground and hill textures can be very easily exploited. I have this issue and while it gave me such a headach trying to fix, the first game I had the issue in and attempted to play... you can clearly see enemy mechs behind hills so well that I powered down, It would have been unfair to play.

I'm currently having this problem also. I'm running windows 7 x64 and an nvidia 460 1gb video card. I've made sure the nvidia settings were set to "application controlled" but the problem still persists. It's nauseating and as others have said could easily be exploited by those who want to cheat.. I just want it to stop, it gives me a headache.
