In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

-John McCrae

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth’s foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
They stood, and earth’s foundations stay;
What God abandoned, these defended,
And saved the sum of things for pay.

Thank you men and women of the armed forces for your daily sacrifices to your county and kinsmen.

You live in discomfort so that we may enjoy our freedoms.

This is no place for your politics. Governments and Politicans may do horrible things, but Soldier's serve their country and their people, and likely even the worst soldier ever to live has done more for the betterment of mankind than the likes of trolls like you.

Take it to off-topic if you want to talk politics. This is a place to honor those who have served, no matter their nationality or creed.

The price of freedom from tyranny and oppression must always be remembered.

Millions more have died from WARSAW bombs.

You should apply some kind of neutrality to your view on history. I know it's hard considering these are pretty recent events, but these will be ultimately remember as days long past. Who was the good guy? Romans, or barbarians? There is no subjective thinking in that and such should also be applied to recent events.

Also, I'd be pretty interested in knowing when did actually Warsaw bombs fell during Cold War, because there are only two actual engagements I know of: Corean and Vietnamese war and both sides were really brutal in their attacks, both were the bad guys, so to speak. But let's keep that for personal discussion, and not spam topic like this. :P

"John G. Magee, Jr., a 19-year-old American serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Britain, wrote "High Flight" in late 1941. He was killed that December in his Spitfire over England. President Reagan read from the poem in his address to the nation following the Challenger disaster in 1986, and its familiar phrases were used in honoring the brave men and women lost aboard shuttle Columbia in 2003."

The price is vigilance...and sometimes the enemy is within us, such as the capacity for war itself.
