Blame the equipment, blame the mech, blame the tactics, blame the 3rd party software, blame the game, blame the developers.

I don't fully support everything PGI is doing, but I wish they'd really clamp down on this forum. Frankly, we could lose all of the regular posters and not make a dent in the player base (assuming the sales and user figures are true).

aye, I see the point. I would rather see people spending their time and mental vitriol on "I lost because of X, so let's figure out how to either beat that or bypass it to win" instead of such a concentration on "I lost because of X"

I guess my thought process is, instead of developing frustration regarding a particular component of loss, then try that component out. No one is limiting these items to only the opposite side. Everyone is under the same consideration.
Edit: We are playing in big friggen stompy machines of doooooom.. what could possiby be ANY cooler than that?

P.S. I have never seen anyone aimbotting and if they were, I am sorry they wasted there money to die. I have killed just about everyone at ever level of the game and back down to the bottom and I have only seen 1 guy legit hacking and it was speed, but he still died. Please dont cry about aimbots....they dont exist.

Then why include the ability to customize mechs?
Just create one mech type with the cheese build that everyone is using and call it good.

And then make that mech an Atlas and remove all the other weight classes as they would be/are redundant.

See comment/response to "Then Play and Atlas"
Quote
Then remove all weapons but the Gauss Rifle or some such.
Quote
Or allow ECM to be equipped by all mechs and/or, along the lines of my above comment on the Atlas. Just remove all other mech types in the game so that only those that can mount ECM included.

Except they aren't.
The thing you're glossing over is that these type of games have Flavor of the Month builds. A piece of equipment/chassis/etc gets introduced that is superior to any other piece of equipment/chassis/etc that that's all that gets used. Until the developers come along and nerf/adjust that piece of equipment/chassis/etc and something new rises to take it's place.
Just using the particular piece of gear that caused you to lose doesn't do anything other than make that piece of gear more prevalent and the rest of the stuff might as well be tossed on the dump pile.
The thing that's causing the issues/problems also happens to be the best thing about the Battletech/Mechwarrior genre.
The ability to customize you mech. As long as that ability remains, you're going to get these type of threads.

But, unless the people you are playing are the only people allowed to have these things, and you aren't, then complaining about how effective something is that is something you can also use is a fruitless process.
It's like saying that people with a dollar in their pocket are the reason why you can't spend the dollar in your pocket.
Dude.. you also have a dollar in your pocket

It has nothing to do with only one side having access to those things.
It has everything to do with the fact that if those things are "the best" then both sides are going to use those things, to the exclusion of everything else.
Thus making it so only X chassis with Y weapons and Z equipment gets used. Everything else falls to the wayside.
As for the dollar analogy it's more like saying that the person with the dollar in their pocket is forcing me to use the dollar I have in my pocket instead of the change I want to use instead.
