MC prices in perspective:

For $5 you can park your car in downtown Los Angeles for the day.
For $9 you can convert enough XP to GXP to take a brand new mech to master.
For $10 you can buy enough gas to drive 70 miles.
For $10 you can buy 30 days of premium time.
For $10 you can buy a movie.
For $10 you can buy 8 mech bays.
For $10 you can buy a pizza.
For $11 you can buy a hero mech.

Sure, paint and cockpit items are silly but stuff that actually improves the game seems fine to me.

I've converted some MXP to GXP. That's all I use it for. Haven't really spent the GXP on anything though. Maybe a module that I didn't need. There's really nothing to do in the game & therefore no incentive to "make any progress". There's no real progress to make. It's not like being good at the game or getting good results really gets anyone anything new, or gets you to anything interesting. Dropping into the same 4 maps in the same cap the red square game mode isn't really much different with a magic red bar shrinker accelerator & mistle toe hangin' over a hoola girl in the cockpit (or whatever the fu<k you /\/\ofo's are decorating with).

I want a game to play for my money. I want $h|t to do, places to explore, things to accomplish, a reason to grind & I'll spend a bit sometimes to speed that up. I couldn't care less about decorations except a big ol' set of brass balls to swing off my 9M. I'd buy an Extended Range Particle Projection Co<k (ERPPC) for it too.

I agree with you and the only thing I'm spending mine on is mechbay slots. I wish they weren't gouging for these because they WILL add up once you've got around 50 Mechs in the garage. Their business model here really is quite shameful. Things are already overpriced in the store MC wise, the overpriced Premium is required if you want to grind without paying that, and on top of it, they're charging more for garage slots. If you're going to charge over 20$ for a ******** Mech at least include a garage slot for it. If they think this gouging is going to net them more money, they're completely wrong and will learn the hard way like every other failed F2P. Most people will actually spend LESS on the game. A lot of players would put hundreds of dollars into League of Legends, or at least 100$. Do you really think many are going to do that here? Other than for the Legendary, the only good deal they've given players, not a chance.

Then whats the problem? You don't have to spend your mc right now.
I'm not, I'm waiting for more skins and what not. Possibly re-new my premium time later.

I think the point he's making are that there are many players (the two friends I play with as another example) who traded real money for MC and now that they have it... the prices are absurd to use them or there's nothing worth it yet.

That being said, it's still "beta" (a long-lasting money making one without community warfare) so everyone can wait and see as more features, hero mechs and other stuff release and the economy adjusts.

I don't know, Mr. Muromets is rather nasty, if a bit limited in what he can do.

Cosmetics are...yeah, expensive. Not happening anytime soon, but I'm really tempted on paint/camos. If they were about 25% cheaper than now, I'd be seriously considering some makeovers.

Things that are small enough purchases and add good gameplay value for their price>

Mechbays
GXP conversion

Things that are a tad pricey>

The camospecs are a tad high, Might be worth it though at the current price if they were permanent
Mechs
Cockpit items are a tad high.

Not a good deal>

Premium time isn't a good deal if you are buying smaller sums of MC, >50$ worth.

I have a budget of $20 monthly for this game plus 16,400 unspent MC, and I want that snowman BAD. But for 75 MC, not 750!!!

More than willing to spend cash on this game up to $500 a year, but only if the returns are worth it. If I could buy Ilya Muromets mech with CB and Heroize it, I would.

Honestly I kind of hate how PGI has said we cant use canon units, but we are being tossed hero mechs from canon characters for outragoues prices based on a lie - "no mech will be MC only" when if we could heroize our OWN mechs, custom skin them our way, well that would be worth it. Ilya's is defnitely close to pay to win, it does what the 4X does but better because it can hold a bigger engine.

Phranken skin costs 750MC per mech. Want it on 10 mechs? 7500MC. PGI is living in a delusion if they think I will spend that kind of money for a 1 time skin, nevermind the risk/if I change it.

imho all the paint & skin costs would be perfectly acceptable if they where 1 time permanent purchases rather than per mech purchases.

Paint schemes/patterns - I have painted my mechs jet black all over and i am happy with it. No desire to make my mech look like a fairy. Please add some more things for a reasonable price.

How did you do that for 0 MC?

I called this months ago.

I told PGI they need to make large numbers of small sales, and not try and hold out for a few sales and make things really expensive.

Everything in the game is too expensive, except for maybe the hero mechs, because that's an income boost for life.

Two things to say here. Firstly, Christmas lights are awesome, and totally worth the MC. Secondly, my founders MC stash does not feel like real money.

And I'm still wating for my cockpit lavalamp.

That's three things.

The thing PGI obviously had not thought of - perhaps due to inexperience - is that many many small transactions is far better than a couple big ones.

I think you missed the part where I implied that I have MC. And plenty of it.
