Anyone Else been keeping their eye on http://www.mwtactics.com

I am a long time TT Battletech Player and something like this is extremely great for playing my friends all across the world who used to play Battletech with me for days on end. I have heard they are soon to go into closed beta for people in the froums. I wanted to see if we could boost the numbers of old Classic TT Battletech Junkies to help the game along. To be honest I will be playing both MWO & MWT they are both awesome games and bring mechwarrior back in a huge way that just hits home with me. Who elses is in?

If you're signed up already, you should have gotten an email that says Friends and Family closed beta starts soon

Can't wait!

So much potential there, I hope they can deliver, it feels like a small dev group, so hopefully they get a solid product out there and have a good run of it.

Feeling somewhat iffy about the double blind system, but we'll see!

Honestly the double blind has had a lot of discussion between me and my friends but we feel they are making it work the best a team can cause one move at a time could take forever for a TBS game if each player had to move one mech then another and then firing phase. I got to see them at one of the shows and from the show they gave it was amazing and easy. Yes it was hard for some of the TT to translate over but it was very nicely done and over all well rounded. I would say get in on the double blind system conversations more people always give more insight. :)

It looks cool however, the community is lacking. There's sparse updates, and little to no interaction/feedback from the Devs

All the more reason for more of us to try an spark conversation and ideas. To help Mechwarrior be what we want it to be. Yes there is little to no feedback but if their community grows they would feel more inclined to try and connect with that community.

I don't know a lot about the game but I have signed up for it.

I've always wanted to get into the TT, but since I have no friends willing to play I'm hoping that this will "just as good" and allow me to get a feel for it

I'm REALLY excited ;)

I've signed up for the forums to get into the beta. After that, I'll have to see if I can get over my aversion to playing something on a browser, and if I manage to do that, then I hope it will be good enough to justify it. ;)

I am excited for any video game with BattleTech or MechWarrior in the title. Sure, they all have a possibility of turning into a steaming pile, but if they do it right it's such a cool universe for a game.

Indeed it is. Graphics aren't nearly as pretty as MWT seems to have, but it's pretty much a direct adaptation of the TT game. See here.

You still need to find actual human opponents for a proper game (Unless you want to play against the not-entirely-impressive bot), but that's much easier on the internet than it is in the real world.

Mildly intersted.

Graphics of each mech have me a little perplexed. Look at the Atlas...

Looks like it has the following weapons.

Gauss Rifle (Right Arm)
PPC (Left Arm)
LRM20 and SRM4 (Each Side Torso)
LRM10 (in each Leg)
Medium Laser (Left torso)

Yeah it is not your fathers Battletech...But it will be mechs on a field...I'll check it out.

I'm pretty sure it allows for customization of mech's in a mechlab style situation, or at least Variants. The Atlas did indeed look very non-stock.

Looking at their mech designs, I thank every possible god out here that we got someone like Flying Debris doing the concept work for MWO. The mechs over at MWT look ugly as hell.

Look at that Hunchback... not even the right (pun intended) torso for the AC/20...
