Liked the concept more, this one looks way to much like a catapult.

That would be because the Stalker is a big catapult.

I'm seeing a lot of this sentiment but I disagree...

The Stalker is a giant phallus!

The arms are what is so terribly off, they should not rise above the mech's torso, they should be flush with the top of the mech, to give it a more boxy sillouhette. Concept art>>>>>Screenshot

Im just glad we are getting new mechs regardless...

I'm just not a fan of the Stalker. I mean I bet its going to be great Assault Mech and We all see a hell of a lot of them the first few days they are released. I just can't stand a slow Mech. I say that knowing as soon as the Highlander is released I go in to poverty to get one.

eh, new mechs are overrated. just a new set of hitboxes and weapon positions. people will end up cramming the same things into each type of hardpoint anyways
more exciting is new gameplay mode, and maybe a new map?

Looks great, and I love energy weapons mounted at the same level of cockpit.

I totally didn't see this thread before I made my own. Sorry!

With regards to the topic, I think the in-game looks just plain....blah.

It just looks like a giant oddly shaped Raven now, What happened to the look from that awesome concept art? Why did it change? The concept art looked amazing, IMO.

Also, what's with that tiny little area connecting the upper and lower torsos? It's almost like the front of a 747 sitting on a stack of dinner plates.

Well once you bend the legs backwards yes.

The only thing that bothers me are its feet, and that goes for concept and in-game screenshot. I miss forward toes or something that would make it look like it had some kind of balance. As it's designed now it looks like a jenner could push it from behind and make it tip forward.

Otherwise a great looking mech, and it does remind me of the catapult which is a good thing, as it's the most beatiful mech in this game =)

Hooves are usually more stable than long feet are. Why do you think they like to make cars have as much width as possible?

It actually looks pretty good

I suspect the one that "looks like a Catapult" in the front-page picture is the STK-3H, with it's big LRM-20 launchers.

I disagree, I think that image looks pants.

However look at the front-on icon image of the Cicada that appears in your mechbay - That looks utter pants also, but looks ace when animated in-game.

My feeling is the Stalker will look equally cool in game.

exactly,
and the other thing is, the "nose" is too small ingame. look the cenceptart, its HUGE powerfull torso. from the ingame screen it looks like its catapult size.

i dont like it.

Original Stalker shows 'knees' bending in both directions.

Okay, if that doesn't look like a walking pee ness, I don't know what the hell else would.

Hmm... I think this is the first ingame model where I'm a bit disappointed with the conversion. The "ears" look too big and too high and the connection between torso and legs (the hip if you will) looks too thin and fragile for an assault.

That actually does look better. Hopefully the devs are watching. My only dislike was the ears.

I loved the concept art.
The long nose, bulky & ugly look made it really attractive.
I feel like they tried to make it pretty, but in the process the Stalker's soul slipped through their fingers and disappeared.

Sure, it looks good.. But the concept art was much, much better.. Please remake it, and give us the nose back.

Anyone notice the LOW armour values compared to the Atlas and even the Awesome? This thing is going to be very squishy...

But the firepower alone is going to make people cry OP the minute they appear in the game...

Damn now Im not sure whether to buy another Atlas Variant or go for this very sexy mech...
