Reinstall and patch in safe mode with networking.

To start windows in safe mode spam F8 while starting, choose safe mode with networking.

Hi, this is for everyone who's experiencing the MD5 hash error at installation / patching.
I sent a ticket to the MWO support and got this reply with a guide that helped me very
much indeed, now it's installing and patching properly and seems to run fine.

Hello xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
That error is generally a sign of a corrupted file in the installation. I would suggest a clean reinstall of the game. Please follow the steps below to ensure you don't run into any snags.
-Control Panel -> Uninstall MechWarrior Online
-Check install directories and remove any folders leftover
**Old Default Install path: C:\Program Files(x86)\MechWarrior Online
**Current Default Install path: C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online
-Clean up temp folders:
**C:\Users\*Your Windows Session’s ID*\AppData\Local\Package Cache
**C:\Users\*Your Windows Session’s ID*\AppData\Local\TEMP\MechWarrior Online
-Clean up registry keys with CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER)
-Run the application with the default options
-Clear your browser cache
-Restart the computer
-Download a new installer from mwomercs.com and run it.

Otherwise this can be a sign of a failing drive...
-Open a Command Prompt: Start -> All Programs > Accessories -> Command Prompt
-In the prompt, type in " chkdsk C: /F "
-A reboot will be required to properly check and repair errors.
-repeat those steps for any other installed drives, replacing 'C:' in the command line with each drive letter, one at a time
Regards,
xxxxxxxxxx
