I was wondering how they will incorporate team play in MW:O
We did very well setting up matches in mw3 and mw4 but this seems to be more of a 12 on 12 whoever lands kind of a setup.
My friend in florida and my brother are both going to play 2 of the three of us are founders so ???

I really really hope they let us form lances of friends to fight with.
I understand company vs company may not be realistic at startup but....
MW was really setup for lances of mechs fighting together and though I love a good FFA brawl like in the arenas on solaris
I look forward to remaking some of my favorite old lances.

Lances can outshoot and out manuver single opponents anyday.

what do you all think?

At first we will see disorganized gaggles.

I havent seen anything but in WOT you are allowed to team with your friends in random battles if you're Premium (VIP in most games) at the time, the people you invite dont need to be.

However as WOT has shown a well placed or good or even lucky player can take those platoons out, I've even run into some who hunt those in platoons for the fun of it.

Team play there seems to be best saved for company battles.

Latriam, you REALLY need to read the New Users Start Here, thread... it's been pinned. You're asking questions addressed there.

Devs have said that you can party up with people prior to a match, similar to playing in a group with friends on Xbox, for example.

I read that and I was more asking what the PLAYERS thought was a good idea.
and I read nothing that said we will be able to organize lance vs lance battles just the general you can find your friends and play together.
thanks though :D

I did find this which is what ultimately I was looking for :

They mentioned 1v1 being available at the start (if I read it right) and will add more as they go along.

Okay, then allow me to rephrase. If you're intent to be a lone wolf, there will be a portion of the matchmaking system that is for you, and the devs have already expressed there's a utility in-place in the game to allow you to find friends liked through these forums, and in the game, and you can get together with them for drops, to form Lance's. If, on the other hand, you're in a Merc Corps or a House, your Chain of Command and your Table of Organization & Equipment will be set up to allow you to drop with appointed Lance and Company mates, or with others similar to the way lone wolves work.

Thanks Kay Wolf and thats really good to hear.
I went through the post and found nothing that definite but again its really good to hear.
I did see where the Dev's said they would support us if we made a system for planetary warfare etc.
I also noticed they are very intent on helping us to make a great system that can be used to play in a player made battletech universe.
