If you're under attack and losing initiative, put your heavier 'Mechs on the defensive and send out Mediums and fast Heavies to navigate around your attackers and disable their support fire units in the back lines. The frontline attackers will then be forced to diverge fire.

Restricting or removing your opponent's ability to manuever is the surest path to victory. Create an area of denial around your foes, using 'Mech weapons and support fire to intimidate them, then close in and finish the job.
