Of course, by that time we'll have everything we need already, so there will be a lot of "we already got ours, so why should we care about the noobs?"

That, and forum outrage when founders are finally exposed to the real grind.
Oh, it'll be so much fun to watch.

So yeah, if you don't wanna pay you should probably expect to face a bit of a grind.

Founders will never have to use Trial Mechs, so that will never happen. As long as we're able to get Salvage bonuses, Premium is just super ez-mode.

Go make a free account in WoT.
Call me when you buy your Tier ten.
You can have a fully geared and competitive mech in MWO in a couple days, a week if you play VERY casually.
It will take you months to get an end game character/tank/unit in most other games as free to play.
MWO grind is almost nonexistant compared to other titles.

My first mech was a commando and only took me about 1-2 days of playing regularly to buy. Once you get your first mech and join up with some other players to team it's much faster and more enjoyable.
If you view playing the game as a grind though I guess it can seem slow, but if you don't enjoy the matches perhaps that's the reason.

In WoT you play against other tanks around your tier.
This is not the case with trial mechs in MWO. The fact that the heat system completely destroys the functionality of canon mechs exacerbates the problem.

To be fair, phase 3 of MWO matchmaking would likely address this problem as the people in the super-newb tier are all very likely to be running Trials.
