i find that it takes a ridiculously long time to get enough money for a mech. as it takes (after some calculations) 30 matches to get 270000 and assuming each match is 10 minutes it would take five hours if you get at least 90000 per match witch is difficult because you only get 60000 if you lose so you have to win all 30 of those matches and do a good job of helping out. i myself am not the greatest at this game so its very difficult to get this much per match. so does anybody else agree?

They should give everyone the option of either grinding the trial mech, or allowing you to customize your very own Urbanmech.

i would agree that there are not enough c-bills received after each match. i feel like its to much trouble just to buy an armor upgrade. its so bad that i don't even want to play anymore. :(

Yes, the grind for non-premium players is quite horrific.

10 days left until veteran founders have to grind without premtime.

Of course, by that time we'll have everything we need already, so there will be a lot of "we already got ours, so why should we care about the noobs?"

The Trial Mech grind is pretty awful. Once you get a real Mech, Salvage bonuses can double your pay if you know how to use them.

That, and forum outrage when founders are finally exposed to the real grind.
Oh, it'll be so much fun to watch.

For the game to actually make money, advancement NEEDs to be slow enough for a good number of people to say, "Hell with it, I'll spend some cash on MC".

So yeah, if you don't wanna pay you should probably expect to face a bit of a grind.

The grind in this is nothing compared to Navyfield. That stuff was ridiculous.

Founders will never have to use Trial Mechs, so that will never happen. As long as we're able to get Salvage bonuses, Premium is just super ez-mode.

Again I fail to understand how MWO is grindy compared to other games.
Go make a free account in WoT.
Call me when you buy your Tier ten.

You can have a fully geared and competitive mech in MWO in a couple days, a week if you play VERY casually.

It will take you months to get an end game character/tank/unit in most other games as free to play.
MWO grind is almost nonexistant compared to other titles.

You mean like 220k? Because I can already do that without premium or Mech bonuses.

i didn't find it bad at all, I started playing about a month ago as a F2P gamer and I already own 4 completely kitted out mechs, 3 catapults and a hunchback, also bought a XL 315 engine and a bunch of extra weapons I've been fooling around with. I currently have about 10 million bills banked, planning to buy a Cataphract when it's released this week.

My first mech was a commando and only took me about 1-2 days of playing regularly to buy. Once you get your first mech and join up with some other players to team it's much faster and more enjoyable.

If you view playing the game as a grind though I guess it can seem slow, but if you don't enjoy the matches perhaps that's the reason.

In WoT you play against other tanks around your tier.

This is not the case with trial mechs in MWO. The fact that the heat system completely destroys the functionality of canon mechs exacerbates the problem.

You used to make a million each match so it was kind of a big change. I will admit a million is a bit much. Just as well, it is of my opinion that 90,000 ish is way too little. 400,000-500,000 would be considerably more reasonable. it would give breathing room for the more casual players, the poor players and the players who just don't have time to grind through it. That being said i want to feel like i'm playing a game and not at work. I used to be able to say that this was a non BS game that i could just play and enjoy. But that time is gone.

To be fair, phase 3 of MWO matchmaking would likely address this problem as the people in the super-newb tier are all very likely to be running Trials.
