The answers in this thread are pathetic. Being a good player and accused of hacking is a topic of itself. The same goes for "learn 2 play" answers. Yes people suck and need to learn to deal with situation. However, what this has to do with the topic is beyond me. What you are saying is not mutual exclusive. Fact is, that there is a working hack out there, believe it or not.

The problem is that the same people yelling hackusations are of the same mentality as the people who ***** about bugs. They make a lot of noise about it but never submit anything to PGI so that something can be done about it. Then of course they ***** that nothing is being done and blame PGI. I'm sure there are hacks for this game out there but compared to other games I've played this game has been damn quiet as far as obvious hacks go.

if you play 8s -- you will understand that hacking is definitely a problem in the game...

try getting sniped & tracked by an ER large laser as your mech slides down slopes in alpine and tell me that hacking does not exist in mwo...

That's not exactly hard to do.

I fail to see how this is hacking? The player moved his mouse to follow your movement?
Scary thing about this game, there is always someone above your ability, or just downright lucky

anyone who can deal better with the mouse, a goal also assumes at the extreme edge of the cockpit, or more responsive than in the TableTop at an enemy is a hacker ... some had better play single player games again

I love those threads. "He hit me in a way i can't accomplish myself!" -> "He must be a hacker." Yeah...totally.

A number of good threads are either locked, or moved to non existent forums....and yet the mods let this one exist..and yet it serves less purpose than most of the GD threads.

1 game - okay i will accept luck

playing against the same 8-man team for the whole night and all of their shots flawless - yeah right no hacks my foot.

we knew full well that we were facing a hacking team, but we tried the whole night to see if team tactics can overcome it... the closest time we came to taking them out was setting up an ambush so it was 4-5 friendly mechs pounding against 1 enemy mech... we took out several but still lost the game....

we just chuckled and told ourselves that we were playing end game boss level difficulty...

on a more serious note, this does not bode well for CW if hacking teams go un-challenged.

you are entitled to your opinion...

i've played with & against many units (some of them RHOD teams) since the time we were weight matching & synch dropping 8v8 in closed beta.

to name a few -- DHB, RRB, 1st BR, 9th, 13th, HHOD, JW, LW, SW, OMC & yes even WoL.

i know the difference when you are getting your behind handed to you by a better team or something funny is going on.

each unit will have superstar marksmen that can pull off "impossible" shots but you will never see each and every element in an 8-man pull superhuman shots (yes even lights & mediums are fitted with ER Lasers & ER PPCs)..

this is like your typical crime against female kind -- it happens and people are embarrased to speak out because of "L2P" comments like yours.

i'm not saying hacks are widespread -- but they do exist and you will know the difference between better pilots & hackers --
this is most pronounced in 8-man...

It's most pronounced in the game play que where most teams are co-ordinated, on voice coms, playing as a team shooting the same target whilst calling out visual torso parts for the most devastating and quick effect for quick examples the 4P's laser hunch, the highlanders side torso to remove torso and arm weapons etc etc.
These same teams tailor their 8 mechs for a specific purpose.

No going to wade through 11 pages of dribble.
But in order to help to reach page 12 I'll simply hand out my 2 cents:

As long as people can easily modify their user.cfg (read: client side option rather than server side) I assume the devs giving a damn about hacks and whatnot.

I'm not talking about "aimbots" of any sort or well coordinated teamplay (it exists) - much more about the ability to remove trees, fog, the entire cockpit, altering drawdistances and other stuff.

I keep seeing people complain about this, but I've yet to see a good example of how it's done.

This thread is going in circles by now. As the one thread about cheating, I allowed to remain open, I will now revert my past decision.
