Played a round earlier and I was last standing one of the last standing on my team. I'd been doing my job of peppering the enemy because I drive a support class mech. I admit I am working on my aim. I followed the group raining missiles on their targets and saw a cat like myself with out many lasers. I engaged a one on one with him. Players on my team began to tell me how bad I was. I did kill him just took a bit longer.

I so the question is why can't we give positive support when peopleddon't play the best. Keep in mind I did come in second on the score board and I wasn't hiding

Almost every single person who says such things will never be in a position to prove their own words.

TL;DR: They are worse than you and dislike you proving that.

What Garth said.

To be honest those sorts of knuckleheads are in every online game you will play. They have the protection of their keyboard so they say what ever they want.

Ignore it and have fun.

THEM: You Suck you should just quit and delete the Game

YOUR RESPONSE : Nobody Sucked as much as your MOTHER when she was Working the TRUCK STOP PARKING LOT LAST NIGHT :(

So people who say others are bad are even worse than the person who is saying they are bad, but you just called them bad, so you are worse than the bad people who calls others bad?

Did I get that right? :(

I hope no one calls you bad because we'll get stuck in an infinite loop of baditude and that could mean the end...of mechwarrior online

P.S. Where's my Garth Bobblehead?

Some people are just plain unhappy. I won't get into the psychology of it, other than to say there is nothing anyone can do to appease these idiots.

When it happens to me, I just talk smack if I am not otherwise immediately occupied.

Random A-Hole[Dead]: LOL! Wow, you suck!
Me[Alive]: . . . says the dead guy. Perhaps you should play smarter next time, General Custer.

Observation? The person telling you how you suck is spectating you. Hmmm, if I'm not mistaken doesn't this person have to be dead to spectate. Irony!
I wonder what their score was if you were second on the list?

To awnser your post, I never tell someone they suck. I have offered advice to some. If I see a you suck or such comment ever posted towards anyone, it tends to put a bad feeling in my heart. No it doesn't make me feel good to see this.

Some people are bad however...yes, there is a steep learning curve but when youve passed your 100th match and still close under 180m and fire LRMS....yeah...youre a bad.

the surprising thing from this thread is how many people think that it is a measure of skill that one can stay alive longer (and/or do more damage) than someone else in battle (the classic, inane, moronic, "im alive and ur dead so ****")

there is no reason why the player who dies first on his team and/or has not done a lot of damage, has not actually been the best player on his team, and the last one alive is the worst

thinking anything other shows what bad players you all are :) (or at least, that you are fixated on the individual, not the team)

To be honest, there's a lot of negativity on these forums but I don't usually see it in game. I've been fairly impressed with the way people deal with things in-game. It's not 100% good but it's a lot better than some other games out there.

The best thing to remember is that anyone who is backseating you is already dead. Someone who is still driving and screaming for support at least deserves a second thought... Did he so something stupid and get into a no-win situation (my biggest personal downfall) or is he trying to hold a good chokepoint and getting overrun? Sometimes that's a valid need for support and sometimes it's "I did something stupid, why didn't you join me" (and he'll probably be backseating soon).

Best advice I can give... See if they offered anything constructive. If they did, see if it applies (could I be shooting better, should I be supporting that position right now) and learn from it. If it was not constructive, ignore it.

People are d.icks. Don't let it get to you. As you say, your position on the scoreboard does all the talking that's necessary.

My guess: he died, it was his fault, he was mad, he had to place the blame elsewhere or he'd have to admit that he has faults, so he insulted you. You almost have to pity people like that. :)

Keep in mind that the key word here is what *could* be. It's not a perfect rule but it's probably good more than 50% of the time. If you were the first one dead you did something wrong. You rushed without support. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's from a different game and a different genre but the saying "A dead rogue does no DPS" applies. Unless you got 2-3 kills before you died or had support from your team but were the first mech focused then you probably made a mistake and your team would be better off if you had not done what you did.

Again, not a perfect rule by a long stretch but not something to just be ignored.
