Seriously, now a PUG competition? Where's the love for 8-man groups?

There's a serious disconnect from the devs and the players that would be the bread and butter of this game, the Founders and the hardcore MW and BT players. We are the guys that are going to dump money into the game. The people that don't dump money into the game are the single droppers, the casual players, and those that don't ever spend a dime on anything. The money spenders are, quite honestly, the clan, house, and merc groups that have formed to play this game. These are the guys that will spend money.

I can tell you from personal experience, my group is made up of all Founders, and not a single one of us has spent an extra dime on this game because we just do not feel the development is going the way it should. More and more there are things done that detract from the overall experience of the game, mechanics that were changed that shouldn't have been changed, and so forth. We are not seeing the game we paid for.

The devs really should start listening to the people who will put money into this game, not the people who will never spend so much as a dime.

The serious lack of love for groups is daunting. Where are the advantages of being in a group? Where are the tournaments, the custom matches, the team deathmatch, stuff like that? This is what we want. How about Community Warfare? We haven't heard a single thing about CW is what seems like forever. Are you still even working on it? You have got to throw us a bone here. The gameplay is getting stale, people are off playing other games as opposed to this one, and all because there is no love for the people who would actually pay money to buy stuff in game.

Seriously, give us SOMETHING. The ELO system is completely screwed over groups. Bring tonnage requirements into 8 man groups. Give us some love, or you will likely see these groups leaving.

All people of all skill types and differing amounts of time on their hands spend money on this game.

Hmm. With the possibilty for sync drops gone there simply is no implemented means of having a group vs. group tournament other than doing it in the same fashion as this event which is kind of indirect.

If I were a in a group I'd prefer a proper tournament system featuring leage-style qualifiers followed by a KO Style final round. This is a much more direct way to measure with other groups.

I'm sure it's all coming. Fast enough? probably not since most of us regulars have gone 100mph and already hit the wall. The best we can hope for is a big update sooner then later adding more group features.

Uhh, this competition isn't about "group hate", they're trying to push the community into pugging to give the elo system a booster shot. The more games you play, as a solo player, the more accurate your elo rating will become. What's the best way to get someone to pug? Have a contest.

Chalk up another thread from a dissatisfied Founder who thought that throwing money at the game meant their opinion would determine the direction of the game. If you aren't satisfied, go away.

The LAST thing I want out of any game is for non-clan players to be second class citizens. The very fact that you are grouping up and practicing together gives you an advantage already. You don't need hand-outs from the devs, and demanding more perks or you'll take your money and go elsewhere isn't a helpful attitude.

It's about damn time that solo players got SOMETHING to do, aside from playing target dummies for organized drops.

Opening your wallet wider than someone else doesn't make you more important.

There needs to be an option for PUG only or group games. It's that easy.

BTW you'll notice that I'm a founder...however unlike the OP, I don't play in a team...and have no desire to. I have limited free time at irregular times and can't commit to being around the same time as the rest of the group...and so am a *gasp* casual player!!!!!!

I too have spent nothing on the game since my Founders package...but that was due to my enjoyment being severly nerfed by ECM and the PUG stompers...mostly ECM.

I have played World of Tanks for a long time and regularly spent money there because the game balance and progression there is great...(no cheese builds capable) and it is much more solo/casual friendly....so more fun for me.

What a load of garbage. Me and my 2 mates who are founders couldnt care less about CW, teams, clans, whatever and we all pug half the time too. Its a fun game we can jump in and out of and the only multiplayer game we have played consistently and often since we got in to the CB.

Group features are coming. Just not fast enough :P

As a founder I don't have spend any further money on it. I didn't activate my premium time. And I only bought some GBX and mechbays with my founder MC's. And that's why I didn't joined a clan, merc, faction, guild etc and only play 2-3hours per week....

Because a lot of them will be burned out when Community Warfare is finally out. Then I will join a corp and spend more money on it xD

Lets just completely ignore the fact that this tournament is just a fun way to get more people to solo drop to test back-end systems and not any indication of PGI catering to a subset of players.

That's actually a point, it's really nice and easy to jump into a game in spite of the team balancing issues, which is good. Better than 5-minute queues for sure.

My guess is there are more PUGs that Teams, so give the majority the first shake. Plus it will also help refine our personal Elo scores. Then next week or the week after the team Competitions will be used to find a means to refine team Elo scores.

But I'm just devious like that. :D

We need a couple wicked or evil smileys :P !

The competition and the 50/50 event are just means to the end of acquiring a lot of Elo data in a fast timeframe. Has absolutely nothing to do with catering to a certain player type.

BTW, I drop solo 80% of the time and already had to buy more MC to reload my stack. Also my founder premium time has only a few days left. So please don't jump to conclusions OP.

I think this is a terrible idea. I'm finding the ELO system is working rather well so far and a seperate queue is not needed. (have only soloed since ELO came out to try the pug side of elo out, will be teaming later).

As for the OP, and I mean this with all due respect: Shut the hell up.

You have no idea who puts what money into the game and even if you did casuals and non payers are NEEDED for the game to be good. They provide the game population to keep it fresh and exciting and chaotic.

This tournament is a fun event for the community but the underlying reason is to try and get people to refine their ELOs as single dropping players in hope that the end result would lead to a better matchmaker on the whole. So they gave people an incentive to single drop this weekend.

Seriously man grow up, your acting like a preschooler who saw another kid get the last visible juicebox and can't wait for the teacher to go to the fridge to get yours.
