Mechs with long ranged weapons are one thing, but mechs that can't be realistically retaliated against are another thing entirely. Jump jet snipers are just too good at pinning people down with practically no risk to themselves, at least when you peak around a corner on the ground, it takes a bit to reverse back into cover. With jump jets, getting back into cover is almost instant.
Adding cockpit shake to jumpjets would only stop you from making pinpoint shots at 800 meters with no risk. You would just have to be closer to the fight to hit things while jump-jetting.

Against one or two yes, in 8 mans when you have 3 jumptarts on a team and the rest covering any approach to them + an lrm boat no.

That is incorrect. The targeting computer cannot it is simply not high tech enough.

Attacks by a Jumping Mech
Jumping makes a Mech harder to hit, but the accuracy of weapons fitted to the jumping 'Mech is also adversely affected

wow, thanks guys.
I've been thinking about this, and considering an alternative. Cockpit shake gives pretty bad visibility. They could instead make weapon convergence really bad while midair/JJing. I feel this would be easier to still JJ snipe with compared to cockpit shake, but it would have less impact on JJing scouts.

How about using jets to get on-top of cover, instead of MW4 Alphaboating. You have range, but do you have the tactics and speed to keep it ranged?

The game already has cockpit bobbing, and it's quite nice.
