maybe we should turn this into a turn based game as well? don't you want varied game play styles? I see brawlers damage on par with the ranged all the time what exactly is wrong with it other than you think its lame?

Mechs with long ranged weapons are one thing, but mechs that can't be realistically retaliated against are another thing entirely. Jump jet snipers are just too good at pinning people down with practically no risk to themselves, at least when you peak around a corner on the ground, it takes a bit to reverse back into cover. With jump jets, getting back into cover is almost instant.

Adding cockpit shake to jumpjets would only stop you from making pinpoint shots at 800 meters with no risk. You would just have to be closer to the fight to hit things while jump-jetting.

err you can retaliate again them if you were stood in the open you would still see them before their weapons cleared and smack them, you can also use the terrain to block their sight and get on top of them...

also in battle tech you had the targeting computer to compensate for this stuff...

cockpit shake and aim wobble would be super cool. I really don't want to see this game turn into mechwarrior 4

Against one or two yes, in 8 mans when you have 3 jumptarts on a team and the rest covering any approach to them + an lrm boat no.

That is incorrect. The targeting computer cannot it is simply not high tech enough.

Attacks by a Jumping Mech
Jumping makes a Mech harder to hit, but the accuracy of weapons fitted to the jumping 'Mech is also adversely affected

When shooting you should be forced backwards. It's basic physics. This should throw the mech out of position enough to nerf the jump sniper.

Im sure they will be implementing C3 Computer soon. Which will create a Need for it I.E. **** pit shaking. Thus in order to have the privilege of jump sniping C3 Computer is nessiary.

wow, thanks guys.

I've been thinking about this, and considering an alternative. Cockpit shake gives pretty bad visibility. They could instead make weapon convergence really bad while midair/JJing. I feel this would be easier to still JJ snipe with compared to cockpit shake, but it would have less impact on JJing scouts.

LoL... so NOW people think this should be put in after MW:LL already did it. I've been saying this all along. Poptarting is not a problem if balanced right while still making JJ's fun.

Slower and/or worse convergence is something I like to see. You'd still get poptart LRMs but you need Artemis for that. ^_^

Only on take-off, one reason why you do it behind cover. After takeoff your aim stabilizes. (TBT-5J User)

lets ad shake every time a mech takes a step. thats ever .5 to .75 sec. lets add shake ever time u turn, u know a 35 ton mech with gryos turning is not a simple thing to move. REALISM is not the best thing. lets leave in part of the range game instead of having it all run into 3-400m range, that is not fun.

How about using jets to get on-top of cover, instead of MW4 Alphaboating. You have range, but do you have the tactics and speed to keep it ranged?

The game already has cockpit bobbing, and it's quite nice.
