havent had a single competent team out of 5 games, and out of all 5 the other team has had all the ecm. rigged much?

but hey, lets calculate wins for solo games even though thats completely luck based, instead of damage.

• it's not luck based if you're the guy bringing the ECM.
  
• this is intended to force people to play by themselves and generate good ELO numbers by themselves which is about the best thing that they can do to get ELO properly seeded at this time.
  
• if you didn't recognize 1 and 2 you're probably not in the running for a banner at this point anyway so why complain? (I'm not in the running for a banner and I know it even if I know exactly why this contest is being run the way it is.)

no you're completely right, if you drive anything that doesn't have ecm you're a scrubby nooblord who deserves to lose

Well, people are doing it wrong if they are WAAC mentality. I don't have a single mech that mounts ECM but I don't play to win at all costs. If you want to win this contest you are going to have to play to win at all costs. As was brought up elsewhere, the guys trying to win the Light category are going to be predominantly in 3Ls. There are other options but they are not going to be anywhere close to the numbers of 3Ls. I expect that for the Assaults it'll be a D-DC fest although I suppose it is possible that the STK-5M will also show heavily. Other builds just don't seem to be popular enough to show up in a WAAC competition.

The good news is that there will be plenty of people who (like me) don't care about the competition or would rather run with lancemates for fun so that's not all you're going to see out there.

If, after all the changes made to TAG and PPCs, you still do not know how to deal with ECM-equipped enemy teams, then I don't know what else to say.

so what you're saying is, on the small maps that have plenty of cover to get srm's and ac/20's into range, that you can nullify their ecm and kill them before they get close enough for their 60-80 damage alphas?


honestly, building this awesome was a mistake. i should have bought a ddc because there are so many idiots who think they can counter ecm on anything but alpine-which can even be countered by an intelligent pilot who moves deliberately through cover, and alpine is the only large map out of a bunch of world of tanks -esque brawler maps

I'd still have 3 srm 6's, but more armor, better heat management, more tonnage to play around with, and ecm

What was your loadout?

I built myself an ECM-light killer as follows:

• AWE-9M
  
• ERPPC x 2
  
• TAG
  
• SSRM2 x 3
  
• DHS x 20
  
• max XL engine that will fit

With this running at 84+ KPH, I was able to kill quite a number of ECM-equipped Commandos, Ravens, and Cicadas over the weekend.

And this was only so I can start bringing my similarly-equipped Pretty Baby to master level.

3 srm6 2 large lasers, ppc, medium laser. quite frankly i can get more damage output, more armor, and ecm from an atlas. awesomes are laughably bad.

but only when better mechs are on the other side. if its the biggest **** on the farm then it regularly gets 800-1200 damage in my hands, so i can only assume others have similar experiences.
