More people that missed the sarcasm.

Well done OP, your post was subtle enough to confuse multiple people into thinking you were serious.

I don't think he was being sarcastic... He's just pretending now. :)

Ecm. Makes bad players good, good players great and great players....well it makes great players something you dont want to run into on the battlefield without ALOT of help.

Why would I run a non ECM mech when I can just run an ECM mech and use Streaks as well?

Well for a while now there has been thread after thread about the ECM being OP or that ECM players were just more skilled. With the new ELO system we can finally see that they were simply just more skilled! The players with ECM mechs have a better win loss ratio and better K/D ratio. It's really sad that it took them so long to add ELO so we could see that this was simply a learn to play issue.

This is not the first time this has happened in a game though. In World of Warcraft, when it first released warlock players complained about the rogue. The rogue was a completely balanced high skill cap class (much more than the warlock) that a large number of the pro players decided to play. Many rogue players were so skilled they could kill a warlock without taking even one point of damage. Blizzard foolishly listened to the warlock players and nerfed the rogue! Hopefully PGI will not listen to the noobs like Blizzard did and with ELO can see they are just better players.

Umm no...all classes complained about the warlock being able to fear lock them into oblivion whilst dotting them to death. Rogues were easily seen by hunters who could then hunter's mark them for the lock to dot and fear. Remember fear used to held for 60s and be unbreakable by the warlocks dots. You'd have players running all over the place dotted, unable to control themselves, whilst the lock kept the dots up. As soon as fear wore off, up it would go again.

All the other classes complained about the OP of the warlock until fear got nerfed to a 10s effect that broke on the 1st sneeze.

Its a good thing that this tournament is only for testing grounds for real ones later. ie-The results wont matter, but give the devs some valuable insight.

So You say players using ECM are megaskilled top players not abusing ECM system but using their really good hands.
Than what about this?:
before, when the matchmaker was broken 3/4 matches I had were 2-3-4-5 ECM in enemy team 0-1 in other - this I understand, matchmaker WAS broken.
now - I see almost all the same, half the matches are ECM team VS non ECM.
So, by Your logic, the only thing i see in ELO today that it's really broken by getting skilled playes VS noneskilled. :)

Bro, I played a Rogue and a Warlock (and a Warrior, Shaman, Druid, Priest, Death Knight (everything except Hunter and Paladin)), from Vanilla up to Cataclysm.

The rogues dominated the Warlock, hands down... As a very skilled Warlock, I could shut 99% of Warlocks down as a Rogue. As a skilled Rogue player, I could beat perhaps 15% of Rogues as a Warlock. And I mean not only 1v1 (let's face it, these games are not always based on 1v1), but any PvP situation. Rogues could easily destroy Warlocks.

So my point is... Wait, what was the poitn of this thread?

Oh yeah, ECM 'mechs die to 4x MPL or 2x SRM and MPLs on a Jenner. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

And I played every class from Vanilla up to Pandera..couldn;t bring myself to playing a Panda monk and game got stale...I could lock down a rogue with either my warlock or hunter from full health to dead easily. I even had tickets put on me for supposed exploits from pee'd off rogues. It wasn't that hard until fear got nerfed, same with hunters mark.

^This^

My experience with ECM is rather predictable, those with more ECM win. Watch the end scores of your matchs and count the Raven 3Ls and D-DC's out there. Whichever team has more, wins 95% of the time. Can't lock on, or even identify the blue blobs out there if you have less ECM than the opponent.

What is the point of this thread, Vahnn? Rogues could interupt and silence Warlock's spells, rendering them unable to defend themselves. ECM does the same thing.

My teams work like this: Okay, do we want to practice tactics, or do we want to win? The difference is, how many ECM mechs do we take before we drop. It IS that simple.

So, yes, we KNOW how to win, because we are better players. But dig this: just because you can win with gas in WWI, doesn't mean you want to be the guy who launches the mustard gas into the opposing trenches. So, it feels like cheating when I use ECM because I know I can use a cloaking device and use my streaks with impunity when I take my raven. But I HATE being that guy. However, losing gets really old, so I switch back to the "I WIN" button when I've had enough.

8/10, only because it suckered so many. Also I love good sarcasm.

Not sure if this is appropriate...

Currently thread is at 15/10.
