Why Is Mwo So Hard On New Players And Casuals?

I decided to come back and play "Giant Robots" and now, I realized... I have almost no exp, no money, a few MCs, and worse of all... not enough EXP to get many of the top level skills. Then I started playing, and noticed ECM Ravens, ECM Spiders, ECM Atlas. I have a founder's Catapult and 2 other cats... now I find it almost impossible to level up my C1 Cat because I can not target anything even when I am looking at it.
Then it hit me, that is why so many NEW players ge frustrated. They have to go up a huge hill to even compete against so much ECM and people who have modules. Then I started playing the new domination type game - conquest - and realized I get fewer points doing the objectives than killing. Even after winning, I noticed I got LESS points than some of the people on the losing team - but yet I was the person on my team capping everything.
So I decided to go big or go home. I popped into my Founder's Atlas and kill people for some badly needed c-bills and exp. I have been thinking of using up some of my MC to buy a mech and sell it for c-bills. I guess I should be lucky repairs are no longer there. Anyhow, my team and I are doing good. I score 3 kills and got assists on 2 others. We lost two 'mechs a raven and commando. The enemy team has only 1 'mech left and before we know it we notice that our base is under attack... and within moments the 'mech has the module to increase the capture rate of enemy (our) base. POOF we lose...
Lastly, I work and can get days off if I plan it in advance. With less than a day (maybe 2 days worth of notice) we are notified about this event... OUT OF NO WHERE.
I know many people will read this and think...
TL;DR
or
"Whiner"
I want to point out that this "Giant Robots" game is still a thing of beauty and the game's graphics have improved a bit to boot! However, being friendly to new players it is not.
Even in games like (I hate saying this) Call of Duty - newplayers can get pre-made set ups (perks and advanced weapons) or customize their own loadout. Right now, no new player can easily get to a module.
THEN combine that with teams running ECM... it can get frustrating.
Another thing, COD does is promotes people to either do kills OR do objectives. In COD, for instance, you can get more points by killing enemies near the objective - or if you are in the objective shooting out. Yet, MWO does not. Right now, MWO does not promote doing anything but killing or sneaking off and winning when people are distracted.

I have in BF3 also only had a lousy rate and am 10 times more often died when I got a kill before I slowly worked up ... What all the little consoles players think about? that they are the same big-rounder and that even without playing in the team? this is not a pony ranch and moreover a BETA! why do you register a new game in progress if you have played a Mechwarrior multiplayer game ever? I would not sign up again at a chess multiplayer game

This whole Noob Howl Reads me go really slow on the cookie, go cry to mommy

I Don't own a single module, I have finally (after roughly 1700 matches) considered buying one.
As to the chassis specific skills, again small bonuses. Speed Tweak is the big one, and yeah it takes a while to get there in the Elite skill tree, but it's not necessary.
As soon as you buy a mech and fit it with gear (DHS, Endo, weapons, engine) you are ready to compete, that's all you need.

most of the problems that exist are because all maps but alpine encourage close range weapons only.

ELO is somewhat helping this, but not by much if any.

Premium plus cadet bonus for 25 pug matches in a trial mech; 10 wins, 15 losses, earned me just over 14 mil c-bills, and 7.5k xp on the Catapult K2.
My KDR during the first 25 trial mech games was 0.5.
I then purchased a K2 and an A1. After I took out the machine guns and fully upgraded the k2 with DHS, endosteel, max armor, pulse lasers and a bigger engine, I won the next 5 games in a row without dying a single time.
The KDR on that account is now 1.0.

call of duty is much better because you can play it on the xbox where there are no cheeters hackers or scripters. everybody knows pc gamers cheat out the bum and thats why consoles are better and why halo shouldn't ever never come to the pc.

You are right if u say, that MWO is a hard game for beginners... I had to experience this fact as well! In my MWo beginnings I was killed so often - my KD was at 0,25. I played hundreds of matches... But now after thousands of matches my KD is at 1,3 - it's not too good but I've never played any MW-PC-Games before --> only TT! I never had problems with cash (ingame) - I mean never! As someone said before - you get you cadet bonus and you're able to buy a high tier mech! No more repair-costs!
EXP --> go out play games and earn them. Play defenslier - maybe. Do a lot of damage. Use ECM-Counters: TAG, Advanced Sensor Range Module, PPC, ERPPC, Ballistic Weaponry. As you see there are many ECM-Counters! Netcode was fixed, so that you are able to hit fast light mechs. About that look for a premade Group and be a part of it! You will learn from them and gain backups!
The devs are doing pretty well in nerfing ECM and balancing - last Patch PPC-ECM-Debuff! You see they go in the right direction! Please don't focus your discussion too much on ECM - yes, it's usefull but it is not a must have! Today I had a pug with my Jenner 7D, 5Kills and 700Damg^^ - it was pretty funny --> no premade, no ecm, 130Europing - ok I had a high tier 7D!
If ELO is working I think you will have no more greater problems. I hope they fix the matchmaker so that pugs must not face 2 4premades... This is no fun...
I hope you can enjoy the game in the next time --> glhf^^

The issue is that you already know how to play. When someone first starts they have no idea what exactly is the best build. There is no room mess around and creatively build. Need practice lobbies.

I didn't get the Alpine Release PRIOR to availability of 12 vs 12 mode or any new gamemode that would make sense in a big map (point defences, mecbays.. something that makes sense to play a big map and walk all day).

In short, they don't watch the training grounds videos.
There are many explanations in there and the game should launch that video on the first start of the game.
The modules you can get with GXP are nothing game breaking.either. Most of them are very specialized or just not worth it.
I got the extended sensor range but forgot in which mech I put it in. That's how much difference modules make.
You can get everything you need with CB and XP. And, like others already said, with the Kadett Bonus for new players you can get alot of stuff in a matter of 1-2 hours playtime.
And there will be an ingame tutorial too.
Maybe in March, since Brian sais it will be a great month for new users.
