The Mad Cat is of course a classic, and I'd say it's overhyped, but it really is a striking design, and a nice unit from the stats as well. I find a lot of Clan mechs reall ugly though... Masakari, Uller, Puma, Daishi... yuk.

But then, I am one of those who thinks the Dasher looks great, like a light Jaegermech.
Some other favourites of mine are the Vulture and Ryoken.

My favorite would have to be the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat), but closely followed by the Warhawk (Masakari) and Kodiak.

Phoenix Hawk IIC. (original not the remodel)

80 Tons, 5/8/5 with twin Ultra 10's and free arms to punch away with. (yeah not very traditional)

For me, it'll always be the Timber Wolf/Mad Cat. It's the iconic mech design, and the default config packs a punch at just about every range.

Having said that, I was always a fan of the Mad Dog in my MW2 days (though I've come to prefer the MW4 Vulture iteration based purely on aesthetics) But more than anything I've always loved the feel of most clan Heavy/Assault mechs. There are few things beefier than the Dire Wolf, Kodiak or Stone Rhino. Also a big fan of the Warhawk and Warhammer IIC. Just about anything with ER PPC's on it actually.

Hmmm... anyone else noticing a theme here? Just call me Mr. Trigger-happy ;)

The Mad Cat is called Timberwolf properly. Mad Cat = is name. And the Vulture is Mad Dog and Ryoken = Stormcrow. If we speak of Clan Mechs the IS Name is inapropriate .

Savage Wolf, Timber Wolf, Summoner. The timber wolf is pretty in the same way that a humvee is pretty. I think the savage wolf is pretty in a more conventional sense

Light: Kit Fox Dominus* (Gauss, 2x ER MdLsr)

Medium: Stormcrow Comminus* (LB-10X, Lg PlsLsr, 2x MdPlsLsr) (Shadow Cat Invictus* (Gauss, 2x ER MdLsr) is a close second.)

Heavy: Mad Dog MAD-D06 (2x ER PPC, 2x ER MdLsr, Gauss) (If forced to take a canon variant, maybe a Mad Dog Dominus* (ER PPC, LB-5X, 6x SRM6). More likely a Timber Wolf Luminos*/Savage Wolf (2x ER PPC, 4x SSRM6, ER SmLsr).)

Assault: Blood Asp Invictus* (2x Gauss, 4x HvyMdLsr, 2x MdPlsLsr, SSRM6)

*Invictus=Prime, Dominus=A, Comminus=C, Luminos=D.
The Wobbies didn't do much right, but they did get the naming system for their Omni configurations down pat.

Pattern: A love of guns (projectile weaponry), namely Gauss rifles and LB-X autocannon, and SRMs.

ETA: I should add that the Warhawk has a special place in my heart as the first and only Clan 'Mech heavier than a Fire Moth that I ever managed to salvage in MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries. I actually like almost all of the Warhawk's canon configurations, but I do not love any of them.

65 tons seems like the perfect weight to me...

So Cauldron-Born or Hellbringer(Loki). I love PPCs so Hellbringer it is.

100% with you here, used to absolutely love running that stealthy, swift, manuverable, up-front-damegy beast.
