Huh, just realized I had completely forgotten to post here.

So nostalgia - my favorite clan mech is the Nova. I salvaged one early in MW3, and since sniping and ride-by attacks were viable in the single player mode, it was a real terror on the battlefield. I only had that like reinforced when I pulled 3 Spirit Cat Black Hawks in my first three boxes of Mechwarrior Dark Age - where the Nova boasted a 12" Alpha Strike that could do 7 clicks of damage, and you could cram two (later three) into a tournament/event sized list. There's one to the left of center here.

That was a HORRIBLY ugly mini though.

I would probably have to say my favorite clan mech (currently) is the Piranha
Mostly for the sheer fun of it.
Clan scientists sit there thinking "how can we make this combat style as potent as possible.... there! OHCRAP! it's not a clan style! DUMP IT!"
Partially for the sheer awesomeness of the firepower in such a tiny package!

Back in Mech2:31st I favored the Nova though - so short+solid tonnage+skating JJs... :P
Mech4.... Bushwacker or Uziel. (why yes, I do still pilot mediums, how did you guess?)

Oh, no argument. About 80% of the Dark Age minis look like they were cast in molds carved from the ugly tree. As far as minis go I much prefer some of the later IWM sculpts like the Nova H:

Which I find to be much nicer looking. But those squat MW:DA Blackhawks have a special place in my heart for winning me a few events with their good Vent values and nasty Alpha Strike ability.

In Mech 4 I usually ran Uziel when I was able. Sadly, lights and mediums never felt viable in MW4 because it was pretty easy to just take one well aimed alpha, and then knockdown meant you could pretty much finish off the light/med at your leisure. I usually ran a Nova Cat or Cauldron Born in MW4.

I never really played online, and ran most of the campaign from the back of my forces.
30+ (disclaimer! number made up off top of head!) runs through you start looking for ways to make it more interesting.

Mediums WEREN'T viable if you were the prime target and let yourself get hit - but were great for getting someones attention and running back through your own forces letting the tunnel-visioned AI get blown to bits.

True.. If you wanted to get a bit more in the action you had to buy a Heavy or Assault (not a Timberwolf, always bought it but sadly you go down easily with its oversized CT :D )..

Or the cocpit, thing had one of the biggest cocpits in the game.
Maddog/Vulture was my prefered Heavy for the earlier runs until I got tired of it's painfully slow torso twist.

When you have green armor everywhere and a red CT you should start worry about that PPC...

I'd go for the Summoner/Thor or the Direwolf/Daishi.

Don't you mean the Ebon Jaguar ;)

I really hope they add this mech instead of the Hellbringer. The EJ/CB is such a lovely peeper with it's high arms and those high launchers.

I have never played a Clan mech (only other Mechwarrior game I played was Mechassault on the original Xbox), so I have nothing to base this on other than reading Sarna.

That said, I think I'm going to like the Warhawk and the Dire Wolf. Heck, I think I'm going to like all of them to be honest. Based on the PGI concept art I've seen, all the Clan mech look absolutely badass. I just hope they aren't nerfed into oblivion.

i'm a softie - elemental after that would have to be the thor; good mix of weapons/armor/speed and that unique look, after all the mad cat looks like its constipated.

Well according to the MUL, we could see it anytime the DEVs start getting 'extra' Clan mechs. Apparently, I guess in the Homeworlds it started to be available in 3051.
