No, this is the best way to determine skill. Can you do consistently well, even when pushed hard? That's what matters.

That just shows you don't have anything better to do this weekend haha. I mean if that's what matters to you then kudos. But I don't see it as a show of any skill to be able to play more than the rest.

Drunks and stoners don't have what it takes to do well over extended sessions of gaming.

No, but they consistently do well at being drunk and getting high when pushed to do so. Silly? Maybe, but no sillier than your argument. :D

My win loss ratio is so good right now I just let it sit and the golds and pubbies on right now make it rise on its own with all the pugs trying desperately to carry.

Dropped to place 7?

His threads are always fun. I am envious of him. My threads usually have more charts than posters. :D

Nope.
Founder, DDC with dakka, and a lurmboat that can brawl. I alternate between them, brah.

I'm not representative of Kong as a whole, as they are quite casual, and I'm not. I've also got tons of those, babe, but we're not allowed to post them right now.

Or would you like about 30 where I go above 700 damage? I've saved every single game I've played in the tourney...

You can guess at his skill level by him bragging about pulling over 700 damage in an assault. I only get excited for pulling over 700 if I'm in a Death's Knell or something ridiculous like that. This tournament is only about who can play the most games, which is fine, but not something you can point to to "prove" how skilled you are.

Have you not seen his mountain tier chart with the steering wheel players at the bottom? that one makes me crack up every time its posted no matter how many times I've seen it already.

Not everyone gives a **** about the tournament, so they continue their 4man fun.

I'm actually one of those who in general doesn't. I play FOR the team aspect of the game. I do to much other stuff to be uber-competitive, and never have needed e-peen in my life. For those with the time, more power to them, they will (usually) be better than I am, regardless. The point was that as long as the "Solo" tournament was mixed into the same queue with Full groups, the numbers will never really be valid, as going on a streak with a lot of PUGs on the other side is going to yield much higher stats than facing a team on the other side, hence skewing potential results. It balances some over the course of the weekend, but not entirely. And it certainly doesn't account for the "solo" syncs popping up. (where people get all the benefits of being on a team, without the disqualification).

Personally, I think this tournament is sort of the exact opposite of what we want to establish in Community Warfare, and if CW is run at ALL intelligently, the ELO stuff will ONLY matter for those not running Contracts in CW anyhow, as the very nature of CW would eliminate the random map/opponent factor.

Regardless, for those enjoying it, more power to them. Hopefully this is a start of finding a way to keep both the Casual Twitchers AND the long haul Meta-gamers happy.

So basically what OP is trying to say is that he's been playing the whole time since the tournament started, and by whole time I mean from the first minute.
This is on the verge of no-life-ry in WoW where players start the very same second the server went up just to get the "first to max lvl achivement".

Now that's just mean. Maybe he has a rough job and a hard life and this is how he blows off steam. Who cares if he wants to play this much? :D

This competition doesn't really show who the best pilots are at all. What it does show is who has the most time to play the most matches.

Earlier I was matched against Khobai. He was in an Atlas. Someone called him out and we took him down quickly.

Kinda felt bad for him. Kinda.

Being on top of the leader board puts a big target on your back.

Yes, I truly have no life. Woe is me, and my lack of life, which keeps me from effortlessly making friends both online and offline.

It truly is hard being me, trolling and grinding 4 minute matches at the same time.

no pity here

you make your life

so you better win this tourney

cause it looks like that's all you have.

good luck man :D

You guys are nertz.

I ran about 30 matches today, and I'm tired as all ****. How the hell do some of the Tourney folks keep going?

Seriously, Pat Kell has gotta be a cyborg or something.

I played 20 games, and was flat out done after that. I can't imagine playing 200+ games in a weekend.

Maybe 20 years ago... but not now.
