I won't slam Logitech too hard because after looking into it I get the impression they have a very good defective device exchange policy. If I contact them and they'll probably send a replacement.

That's crazy that your 10 button died. Mine has been rock solid -that button is my infra-red toggle. The side buttons are great for missiles or lbx's. I also use them for chain-fired lasers as once you've pushed the button you can then more firmly grip the mouse to counter-act the shifting of the reticle.

Is it worth it? Hell to the yes, you'll notice a huge difference. I came from the same cheapo wireless 20 dollar logitech, it's a night and day difference. I just ordered a g9x, because I just got my g500 after my previous mouse broke and hated it. Some advice I will give, figure out what grip you use, and buy a mouse made for that grip. If you buy a mouse made for a grip style you don't use, you will hate it.

i use a g300, buttons are easy to reach without compromising my grip of the mouse. off center optics means if you wrist aim you have to get used to it, but if you're like me and use low dpi/sens you wont notice it.

if you have adjustable dpi, i seriously recommend as low as possible. i use 250 for mwo

For this game I purchased a Razor Ouroboros, because it can be used by the left hand as well. The nice thing about it, is that it can be used wireless or wired, and it comes with a very long cord. But to tell you the truth my old mouse a logitech G9 seemed to work just as well for aiming, and if it had side buttons for both right and left hand I would still be using it instead of the Ouroboros.

I agree, 250 seems like the sweet spot for me.

I have a logitec laser mouse that has to be like more then 10 years old....... I bought it because I hated cleaning the old mouse. It has to be like one of the first laser mice, EVEN COMES WITH A SCROLLER WHEEL.

This mouse randomly shuts off cause it has a short. When it works its good.

The coolest thing about my mouse.....is the mouse pad.

A old Max Payne mouse pad......so gangster. "do not cross a man with nothing to lose"

tried so many mices after that, cyborg, razer, all of the logitech, ended up selling most of them, still using my g9x <3

Are you sure it's laser? Sounds like optical.

So, I actually just bought a new mouse after probably 7 years of using two Logitech G7 cordless mice on two different computers. I will try to give you the pros and cons of the brands from the research I did.

preface: buttons are clicking the scroll wheel, the dpi change buttons, back/forward buttons, basically anything that clicks.

Logitech - anything that has more than 7 buttons suffers from one of two problems. Either the software has a glitch that causes your left click to always doubleclick until you delete a config file and restart the software or the plastic pedestal that they use to transmit the clicking action inside the mouse is made out of such a soft plastic that it has to be built back up to the correct height as it wears down with age. (I had to add height to both my G7's during the course of their lifetimes. only once each but it is worth considering.)

Razer - All their newer (past year and a half of production) mice use software that requires it to be connected to the internet constantly for updates, syncing your mouse profiles, etc. If you don't like the idea of always on software just to run your mouse, you may want to steer clear of it.

Microsoft - no real downsides, they just don't make mice that have 9+ buttons and are really just very utilitarian.

Cyborg - solid mice but small in the hand. I have some friends that use them and like them very much but all of them say they're small and take some getting used to.

Those are the big ones. I actually skipped all of those and went with a Drakonia Sharkoon. I have now had it for about two weeks and it has quite literally worked without a hitch. The software is solid and decent. There's a little hiccup every time you apply new mouse settings but that only happens each time you remap mouse buttons in the config software itself and takes less than two seconds (literal number) to resume use as normal.

Hope that helps.

Logitech G700 here. Wasn't a fan of the Naga myself. G700 has just the right amount of buttons and precision for me.

i never understood gaming mice. I always use stock mice and still own faces in FPS games.

Only time I ever noticed a huge difference was when we switch from ball to infrared/laser mice.

Based on my experience, they stand by all their products. I have had replacements sent to me without any fuss every time a product had a problem within the warranty period. That is why almost all of my peripherals are made by them.

It's not really about the extra DPI up kaspirikay, it's about being able count on reliable precision in some cases (mostly went out when the mice switched to laser) or for most others it's about the extra buttons. It's really hard to bind 4+ weapon group triggers on a three button mouse. =P The gaming mouse's heyday is more for MMORPG's that have actionbars and actionbars filled with skills, potions, consumables, and commands. (read WoW, etc.) FPS games rarely if ever benefit from anything other than fast response time and accurate movement tracking.

How can people function so low? O.o

I've had mine set to 1200 for months. I just tried setting it to 250 just to see what it would feel like and I had to pick up and move my mouse repeatedly across the pad just to get across the screen.

Razer Deathadder 3500.

I feel dizzy using any mouse under $100, and you should too.

You just need to have a dining room table on your right hand side with your arm extended all the way out! Simple! =P

I bought a Logitech g300 JUSTfor MWO. All my weapon groups are seperate key binds, so no taking fingers off the throttle and turn keys.
