Convergence in Cat's arms is not an issue, so most likely not an issue in Jagermech either.

XL engine with dual AC20 is something that completely outclasses Cat. I'd also take arm mounted gauss over torso mounted every time, with XL.

As an anti aircraft mech, I'm rather suprised if it has bad torso twist. It should have 360° if you ask me.

Also, all hits to arms are generally wasted damage, in center torso mech will be dead sooner, not just halfway weakened.

So I expect to see Jager to replace K2 quite often in ballistic builds, although I think I stick in my K2, but that is just for looks and my preference on PPC sniping.

edit: let me add my K2 mounts 4 PPCs, quite a bit of armor and heatsinks. It can still use XL300 engine, so I'd expect dual AC20 JM6 to move 75kph without speed tweak, be quite well armored and carry about 6-7 tons of ammo.

more like the next cataphract 4x

QUAD UAC5s, XL engine, Max armor, ENDOSTEEL and as much ammo you can push into the frame

good-day gentlemen.

Yeah... the Quad uac/5 jager's gonna look something like this... with those two free crit slots also taken up. Substituted the other two UAC/5's for MPLs and PPCs.

You only have 5 tons of ammo, which is what I usually use for TWO uac/5's, you're as slow as an assault mech, and you're made of paper.

It might be able to do Quad AC/5 better than the CTF-4X, though, gives you 4 more tons and crit spaces to play with for ammunition. Still slow as molasses though.

I think the Jäger will have a slight advantage. And that advantage will probably be that its cockpit will not be taken out as fast as a Cats. The Jäger can still do everything the K2 can. It can be a ballistic ac20 mech, a gauss mech and or if you want to run it as a PPC mech, stick them in the center torso and run machine guns and or ac2 on the arms lol. I believe those that are using the K2 as a ballistics boat will in time gravitate to the Jäger more for this and we will see the K2 revert mostly back to a PPC style mech again.

Wow, the old closed beta Catapult. Haven't seen this In a while! It's actually a pretty sick color.

This is kind of a moot topic since we have no idea what the torso twists, turn speeds, arm move speeds etc of the Jagermech is.

K2 will probably have better torso range over the Jager and the K2 can use it's arms as ablative shielding. losing an arm on a K2 is nothing. Losing an arm or a torso on a Jager would mean a reduction in firepower. The Jager is just going to be a lighter Cataphract without the horizontal arm movement which means at best AC20s with more vertical range.

i think it will mostly depends on the hitbox of the side torsos.. if they are like the trechbuchet (i run all with xl engine and lose only sometimes a sidetorso), than the jagermech will be a good choice for xl+2ac20 .. but if the mech lose the sidetorso like an atlas or stalker, it will be really hard with the xl..

we have to wait an see it in game..

As it is the only mech to say "Dakka" on its artwork, I must have the Jagermech. :P

I'm hoping with the introduction of the jagermech, they move the K2's ballistic hard points to it's center torso so it's forced to stick to smaller guns like its supposed to. All the dual gauss/ac20 point-click-kill kids would have to move to a cataphract or jagermech, which IMO is way more balanced overall.

Probably wont happen, but I can hope

It will happen. Another thing depends if they bring the Jaegermech with LRMS as well into the game.

How it is "supposed to"? Also, if you move those hardpoints to CT, original K2 build becomes invalid, I think they are not interested in breaking stock configurations in any way, although this change would certainly be really small one on that account.

PGI has said that they'd like to make visual changes to represent weapon loadout better. While I'm not against limiting weapon hardpoints to match the model, it seems we are going to see the opposite (model matches the weapons). Both are fine for me, and there is nothing to say something is supposed to have something. Has there been any indication that there is going to be any hardpoint size limits? There certainly is nothing like that in TT rules, I've got no idea why exactly we would need those in this game..?

Would someone like to tell, how Gauss shot manages to come out from UAC barrel, PPC can fit behind tiny laser lens, and other stuff like that? It's not only K2 MG's that are funny. I mainly run 4 PPC K2 myself, and wouldn't be much affected anyway, but I see no reason why K2 should be changed, unless much else is changed too. And I certainly think there is bucketloads of more important things to fix anyway, like ECM...

I just hope the size of the mech is done right and we don't get some Atlas size Jaegermech.

I'm thinking it will have a larger torso twist range and vertical arm range than the catapult, but slower arm / torso movement.

I'm sincerely hoping for a slow torso twist and 360-degree twist range. Hey, a man can dream!

I will have a 4 x UAC 5 version. I don't care if I never kill a single mech, the pure rapid fire AC bliss will be a reward enough by itself.

I think the dual UAC5/dual AC2 stock version might have some good merit in MWO, quite frankly. It'll be fun to try it.

IF you can get all four UACs going double rate without instantly jamming, SOMETHING is getting ****** up. Period, that is a TON of metal in the air at a time.
