I guess the Splatcats and such will be even further injured by the devs stating more bigger maps coming. With the current rotation of maps that the game does, coupled with the smaller maps we have and the bigger maps to come, the game would seem to then favor a balanced mech. Until and unless such time that we can see what map we will be on before choosing and or outfitting our mechs.

Furthermore, if and when clan mechs arrive, short range weapons on IS mechs will be even further hampered by the range of the clan mechs. Even IS long range weapons are going to be bad against them. Unless you are outfitting those IS mechs with clan tech, its going to be a tough fight for the IS mech. We're probably going to see something like a MadSplat Guassinator or something. In which many of us IS mech pilots(don't get me wrong, I like some clan mechs too) are going to be severely screwed. It will be awesome.
