Broceratops, great dropping with you on many matches. However, I have to disagree with some of your points. At NO time whatsoever should this game have been a grindfest like this at all. That I do agree with. But the way it broke down, It was just overall a brutal way to play. For you the amount of games you played...that's insanity. And the 40+ hours of being awake for the weekend...that takes a negative toll on your body. Does PGI want that for all of their players to play this game?
And while it was good to drop with many people here and see a bunch of familiar faces from the forums, and some people recognizing me, which was cool, at the same time, I saw a huge ugly side of the game from the play from the contest. People not cooperating with each other, people getting pissed at kill stealing, a crapload of base capping instead of gameplay where in at least 20 of my matches, it was reduced to base caps where I received NO damage and didn't fire a shot. The contest actually got to the point to where people in solo play were tired of losing in PUG matches, so they joined 4-man teams with the express purpose of spoiling the solo/PUG play and people were capping bases so people would end up with LOW scores for their matches, just to ruin other people's chances of a possible good game.
I've always tried to see PGI's side of the coin on this, but bottom line, PGI dropped the ball on this contest and did a POOR job. As you said, this was not based on skill, but on who could grind the most.
I'm happy you won though, but still, can you show off your banner to others in the game? Not really unless they get killed and happen to spectate on your mech and watch you in your mech...if it happens to be the mech where you have your banner in at the time.
And let me say this...this isn't me whining or crying because I lost. This is me voicing my complaint for this contest as it was handled poorly.
