Quite simple, when I am hit by friendly fire (especially from behind) or I hit someone else on my team there is no warning or message to tell me this has happened. Something like the over-heat and over-ride warning would be good.

As a friendly fire magnet (before and during the fight), I would like to see a warning indicating that you are shooting an ally.

I do get myself shot in the back by allies because brawls get crazy, but I suspect many inexperienced players don't even see me advancing because they're zoomed in for close-mid range shots. It's aggravating.

Would the indicator stop it? I have no idea. I'd like to believe it would.

Seriously. My playgroup gets so many laughs out of how annoyed I get by friendly fire, not to mention the frequency.

Ugh.

I would rather have the system automatically cut out my fire buttons if a teammate walks in front of my weapons reticle.

Even with 3x zoom there is still a view of the area. If you interpose yourself between me and a target I am aiming for and I hit the fire button when I have a shot and you move between me and the target, whose faul is it? Yours or mine? Sense would say don't infringe on another mechs los to a target or you may get hurt by accident.

Now imagine how infuriating this system would be if you had intermitent clear lines on a large target being circled by a few of your teammates. How would you propose this 'kill switch' work on beam duration weapons or rapid fire systems like UACs or MGs? How would this system keep your teammate from wandering through a hailstorm of friendly LRMs or popping around a corner and eating the AC20 round you already sent flying (sorry to the cicada pilot that I tagged in FC if you're reading this)?

You want a 'smartgun' from Shadowrun, and those ain't gonna show up in MW any time soon.

Last time one of these threads came up, I mentioned I'd like to see a blue crosshair flash when you hit a teammate, to match the red flash from hitting an enemy. Simple, effective, and easy to implement.

...

yeah, some experienced players would not walk in front of a shooting ally, just sayin'

ontopic: yes, some kind of warning would be nice, but do not deactivate weapons or prevent firing, that's for consoles - oh no, i did it, grabbing popcorn

Even though most projectiles are quite fast, a shot loosed from 700+ meters still takes time to arrive to target. There in no sucking back a FF shot once it leaves the barrel. What once was a clear LoS to a red triangle, can, almost magically, suddenly become a green triangle FF incident. Especially when you are chain firing a set of weapons. :o

Or... Unrelenting Farce just got in the way...again. :) lol

NO

it is interesting for the first few times but... (start around 1:10)

no matter how many original statements you come up with after a few hours they will all be used up and rapidly become obnoxious.

give me some sort of buzzer and a decent sized red X popping up on screen.

i would like a friendly fire warning dut to one experience i had while spectating (dead) where a team mate killed another heavy team mate (both nearly undamaged atlasses) and lost us the match because of it.

tldr: check your own **** fire lanes for friendly fire
