A light with an ECM currently effectively negates

AC-2
AC-5
UAC-5
AC-10
AC20
Gauss Rifle
Flamer
PPC
ER PPC
LRM 5
LRM 10
LRM 15
LRM 20
Streak2
Numerous electronics equipment.

a light with an ECM can be hurt (barely) by

Light laser
Medium laser
Large laser
ER large laser (heat efficiency of using this against a light is questionable since they'll be next to you)
light pulse
medium pulse
large pulse

When you are immune/extremely resistant to over 66% of the game there is a problem. I find light mechs to make this game insanely unfun as they exist right now, and I would rather they not even be in the game if this is how they're going to be implemented. I know I'm not alone in this. No matter how fun it is for you to run around like a little god it is not worth the pain it causes everyone else that your ******** exists.

I don't care what you say, when over 66% of the game suddenly becomes dead weight as you see the opposing team has 3 ravens then there is a problem. When I can think "oh please be an Atlas D-DC and not a Raven" there is a problem.

Really? You can't one- or two-shot a typical light with SRMs? You can't leg a passing light with your AC20? You can't core a light running right past your face with your double Gauss?

You, sir, need to practice your gunnery. A lot.

ECM prevents ballistics and SRMs from firing? Huh, that must be new since yesterday.

Sure it may take a few shots, but I absolutely love blowing up lights that are trying to circle a friendly mech with the AC20 on my HBK-4G. It's so hilarious because they're just cruising along holding A or D and thinking they're invincible, then BOOM, dead.

I agree Lights are a bit hard to hit but its getting better
theyre working on netcode and should introduce collisions again at some point
patience...

Ppc's and ballistics are currently the best tools for killing light mechs .

What the actual frack are you babbling on about?

I've been one-shotting lights all week with splatcats, PPC cats, any assault mech I own...

Lights are only a problem in groups. Deal with it like everyone else.

State rewind. Not here yet but it'll help.

Also, you can use TAG, MGs, or chainfired lasers to "feel" the target's lagshield, and then alpha when the crosshair turns red.

Anybody who wants lights nerfed into the ground as a whole should have been around while MW4's servers were still running to see the assaultfests (actually, this is probably why their opinion is what it is).

Clearly the OP's aim sucks if he thinks that ballistics are useless vs ECM mechs.

I used to think lasers were the best for lights, but i've realized I do far more damage to them with SRM6's and UAC5's. It's hard to hit them when they're running sideways, but in their maneuvering antics they always turn. During the turn, at that moment when they're coming at you or running away from you, the SRM's and/or ballistics are very deadly. You just have to watch and time it. Lasers are slow slow slow. Sorry OP, but IMO you're using the wrong weapons and that's probably why you're having trouble.

Whoa, what's with all this OP Light babble that's been popping up recently?

I feel like it's December again.

Yes, lights are annoying. No, they do not negate ACs, Gauss, PPCs, Flamers. To be honest, ever since the first netcode fix, lights have been pretty easy to kill. All it takes is one good shot to knock out their leg, strip all their armor, or even core them. I can't tell you how many lights have fallen instantly to my hunchie's mighty ac/20. Try firing at lights while they're running directly towards or away from you. This happens even during their circling runs, even if only for a second. Just take your time and line up a shot.

Of course, blame a class of mech for being OP instead of the game being:

-Beta/buggy
-Netcode needs improvement

You don't care what I say? I guess your post was a statement of your opinion and not an attempt to spark a dialog Since you don't care what I say, I suppose I just won't say anything on the topic.

Sigh, why do people make whine threads when they can't beat something? Why not spend that energy going and devising a way to overcome the problem?

I wouldn't say lights detract from the game. I would say Raven 3Ls and Commando 2Ds take away the fun of playing any other light chassis, including the Spider 5D. I would also say that the Raven 3L in general has frustrated a lot of players, including myself.
