Immidietaly as I saw this mech, I fell in love with it. The mixture of energu and missle and energy hardpoints works great for me, and awesome torso twist helps when things go wrong. So, on smurfy, I built this:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ee80456d19764a7

But, as that xl is very expansive, i need some build to grind till I afford it... My bet was 2 mlas and ppc.
Any suggestions?

Well I use on my founders cat an lrm-ish build.

2X ALRM 5 - 4 Ton of ammo

2X ERLL

2X ML

XL 300 Engine

Max Armor & as many double heats as I can carry.

Don't bother with endo as you run out of slots before tonnage and can't carry as much anyway. Works well and often find people underestimate the lrm5's. :)

One problem that I find is with ECM LRM's are just not that good any more that's why I went with smaller launchers and longer range lasers. Shame really I loved being an LRM-***** in CB.

I just did this with mine, works pretty well.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...71f4737667aabaf
(2x ALRM15s, 3xMPL, TAG)

First match with it I got 2 kills with the MPLs, including one Raven-3L.

I fotgot to add, that in my last build, there are 2 alrm15. And the first one, minimadcat, uses up just all slots. Shame I can' t fit AMS

72 LRM salvos??? How long do you think a battle can last? I'm not surprised you find Endo useless, that LRM setup takes way too many slots :)

I run in a similar build, but with standard LL, LRM10s, no Artemis, 2 tons of ammo (18 full salvos... enough to destroy a couple 'mechs if shot appropriately), Endo, AMS and jump jets.

CPLT-C1

To the OP: keep in mind that in a Catapult your ears are easy targets, and your rear armor is almost useless as long as you can twist your torso appropriately, so I'd increase arms, front and legs armor to improve survivability.

Well in Alpine it can last quite a while. In all honesty though the build is built around the ERLL not the LRM's. I only tacked them on as an afterthought, that and like I said I can't see the point in wasting tonnage on bigger LRM's when ECM basically screws them over.

If the platform had more missile slots I'd go with a SSRM fit or SRM4 build. It is the least used of my cats but as I got it from the founder program may as well shove something on it.

I'd actually recommend the C4 if you want an LRM/EN mech. The mix is in more favour of LRM's on that platform.

a C1 build with 2 PPCs, 2 MLs and 2 SSRM2 would be very effective at the moment. Because if you engage a ECM carrying Mech and hit it with the PPCs, it's ECM bubble will malfunction for just long enough to let you get a lock and add a flight of Streaks.
This build does not require a XL engine, but you might want to get Endosteel to be able to add a few extra DHS.

If you want a great LRM boat.

XL280
2xLRM20 + artemis
3xMlas
1xTAG

Shave some armor off the legs, and get about 5-6 tons of ammo.

Great speed, personal TAG, and enough Mlas to have some self defense.

For leveling up without having an XL engine you can mix and match LRMS, MLAS and LLAS as you see fit. Just take the stock C1, drop the JJ's, buy DHS and Endosteel. That gives you plenty of tonnage to play with.

--

The build I'm using now is very similar to your planned build, but is a bit faster and better armored and has 2 more DHS in exchange for 25% less (10.66 vs 14.11) LRM DPS.

This build is designed as a mid-range 250-500m combatant with good speed. You have the same speed as most SRM catapults so you have a decent chance of evading them. I've found that the LRMs are very effective at forcing enemies to take cover, while the speed lets you get a better firing angle. The only downside is you don't have TAG or a PPC to overcome ECM, but the build isn't completely reliant on its LRMs.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fd8814d285fa40e (move armor from legs to arms)
XL300
2x LRM10 + artemis (3 tons of ammo)
2x LLAS
2x MLAS
17 DHS
Endosteel
Max armor everywhere except legs.

--

Also on my list of things to try out is a single ERPPC, 3MLAS (or 2MLAS and TAG)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...821a4e1e4a014bc

On this build you can easily drop a DHS to add an AMS

--
A note on LRMs: 2x LRM 10 does ~ 25% more DPS than a single LRM 20 due to weapon firing rates. (3.75seconds vs 4.75 seconds) Giving you 10.66 DPS vs 8.4DPS but with more heat generated.

Tried out my ERPCC/LRM combo and it is working nicely. I dropped a heatsink and a ton of ammo to add AMS and BAP.

I just had a great time making the entire opposing team jump off the high bridge on River City. Used my ERPPC to uncover them and the LRMS scared them off. (with 1200m detection range)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...41d9d1e8e988c86
With sensor range module
Soon with target decay (need 4M more CBILLS)

It may seem like there is not a lot of ammo (3 tons), but the idea is to use your mobility to make each round count and always have line of sight for artemis. BAP actually comes in handy since you're using line of sight to target, and potentially your PPC to temporarily counter ECM, so every second counts.

Try throwing a TAG on there, since TAG stacks with Artemis, and can cut through ECM on light mechs easier than an ERPPC.

I've got a similar loadout on my stalker: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7cd2f412454434d

I will probably try TAG tomorrow. Going from 3 to 2 ML is actually a pretty steep drop in efficient close-range firepower though. I'm not sure it's worth it with only two LRM-10's. Usually lights that are far away aren't an active threat, and the LRMs won't work when they are close anyway.

Trust me, I run 2x Artemis LRM10s on my stalker, atlas, and trebuchet. The TAG helps tremendously, and allows you to fire your LRMs at more targets and more continuously.

Also since your ERPPC has no minimum range you can (and probably should) be using it in close quarters as much as heat permits.
